Let’s hope so.

The police chief is at the top of the leadership hierarchy in a police department. All of the officers, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, commanders, and the deputy chief report to the police chief. Within the department, the chief of police does not report to anyone; however, the chief is ultimately responsible for the department and must report to the mayor and city officials.

MAYOR SEAMAN is his boss.

Does he plan to start actually patrolling the streets? I have still not seen EPD officers doing traffic patrol, pedestrian patrol or bicycle patrol. All three are still out of control. Drivers still regularly blow through red lights, often up to 3 vehicles after solid red. Pedestrians are still just walking out into traffic without looking. Bicycles still ride on the wrong side of the street, dart in and out of traffic and generally don’t follow traffic laws. 7th street is like a drag strip. Broadway hasn’t improved even with the new “pedestrian crossing. All this happens right I front of officers all day long and they refuse to do anything about it.

Don’t forget trash on the street, illegally parked cars, loud parties, animals running wild, etc,etc….L.E. has more important things to deal with.
