Gunshot Victim Reported Found Dead Near Blue Lake
About 11:45 a.m., an emergency dispatch center received a report of a gunshot victim located on Hatchery Road on the west side of the bridge on a trail to the left of the road less than a hundred yards down a gravel path.
The deputy at the scene reports that the victim is deceased and the shot does not appear to have been self-inflicted.

WTF Blue Lake used to be such a nice quiet town, when I was growing up there, MANY years ago!!! That description sounds like just before the Bridge across the Mad River!!!! The Levee goes right to left in relation to the bridge!!! There used to be a gate blocking the left side when facing the bridge from the Blue Lake side!!!
Yeah. The sheriff’s investigators were posted up on the northwest side of the levee trail. There was a brownish-grey GMC pickup with blood spatters on the tailgate parked at the bridge, that they towed away this afternoon. … Don’t have many more details at this point. But it’s small town and we all hear just about everything that goes down out here. … Thanks for helping get the word out Kym. Makes a body wonder.

For sure. If I had a decent contact in the sheriff’s office, I’d probably be asking them why there wasn’t a community alert, lockdown order or BOLO. From the scuttlebutt, it happened in broad daylight this morning.

What came about the person who was found deceased in the turnout by elk river? Has their been a name?
The initial report said that the deceased person was a gunshot victim and now the coroner said cause of death is blunt force trauma and stab wounds. Quite a discrepancy.
