Information from U.S. Forest Service – Shasta-Trinity National Forest:

On August 6, a handcrew was working on the south side of the McFarland Fire when a spot fire jumped ahead of them. While catching this spot, six firefighters took some heat that resulted in some first- and minor- second degree burns.

They were examined by medics at the McFarland incident and sent for further evaluation in Redding. Four were seen by a physician. All six were released this morning. They will have a few days off and then are released to return to work.
