How about an onshore flow right about now? Hoping and praying for residents and firefighters. Let’s get past this (hopefully) final heatwave of the season and keep this fire out of SoHum! Thank you firefighters and first responders. Stay safe.

Hi Kym,
Can you please post a time stamp at the beginning of your article so that us readers know if this is most current?
We all really appreciate the work you are doing ESPECIALLY during times like these.
Thanks!

I always rely on an old hippy with a Batman bandana for my most crucial information.

This guy is way more together that many I’ve seen over the years – and I’ve been a wildland firefighter since 1981. His competence level is over the top. I’m grateful.

Does anyone know if the fire has reached the hell gate campground?

Latest evacuation information was a little confusing, but here is the gist of it as far as I can tell;
South of Showers Pass Road may mean and include areas East of Kneeland Road and Alderpoint Road and south of Showers Pass Road in that Showers Pass intersects Kneeland Road, and not Alderpoint Road.

Mountain Creek is just North of the intersection of Homestead Road and Alderpoint Road near Blocksburg.

So the new evacuation warning area is East of Alderpoint Road and Kneeland Road, to the Trinity County line, from just North of Homestead Road, to Showers Pass Road. (at Yager Junction I assume. Showers Pass Road also intersects Kneeland Road at Lone Star Junction, but I’m pretty sure that is not what they mean, but I could be wrong.)

Please correct me if I am wrong about any of this.

Kneeland road runs west to east ish. Showers pass road is the north end of the evac warning.

When in doubt, JUST GO. I just lost my house tonight, if I hadn’t evacked two weeks ago, I’d be DEAD, along with my animals.

THE FIRE CLEARED 5 MILES IN A FUCKING HOUR. I don’t care who you are, you can’t repel that with a hose and a tractor. If you’re worried, don’t fuck around, LEAVE. NOW.

Thanks, but don’t worry about it. Like I said, I got my animals and most of my stuff out. Plenty of people are still in there, for one reason or another.

I see you on Facebook. Please get out of there. Your car’s intake filter will only handle so much fire and brimstone.

For sue! Im so happy that you and your animals got out in time, I lost my home in 40 minutes! Folks do t understand how fast it happens. I lived in a really remote area. I was so great-full we all made it out. ❤️🍀

You are showing videos of firemen talking about the fire, but the maps being shown tell us nothing. Topographical maps with div c1 or div a1, and no place names, have meaning to firemen and other officials, but they already know what is happening. The public needs information. Please put some names of towns on the maps so we can have an idea of where the fire is, where it is that the fireman is talking about. I don’t know the location of some obscure mountain or valley. Please put a recognizable name of a town, river, highway, on the map so the public can know where the fire is, and if it is headed our way.
