[UPDATE 5:51 p.m.:] New Evacuation Orders for West Ruth Lake and Upper Mad River

Posted 4:37 p.m.Evacuation NoticePlease note:

  • An Evacuation Order means you should leave now and the area is closed to the public.
  • An Evacuation Warning means the residents of the area should prepare to leave if ordered to do so.

Information from Shasta Trinity National Forest:

The Trinity County Sheriff has issued a mandatory evacuation order for Ruth Lake West and Upper Mad River. Residents need to leave and go north to State Route 36.

Information from the Trinity County Department of Transportation:

Road Changes: As of 4:00 pm, Sunday Sept 27, 2020, Mad River Road is closed south of Hwy 36. This includes all County Roads joining Mad River Road in the Ruth and Ruth Lake CSD. Ruth Zenia is closed east of West Side Road. #AugustComplexNorthZone

UPDATE 5:51 p.m.: Here is the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office’s alert: “Per the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and Trinity County Office of Emergency Services, the entire area of Ruth Lake and the area of Lower Mad River Road from Sheriff’s Cove to Highway 36 is now under an Evacuation Order. Highway 36 is now closed to through traffic from the Mad River Road to Highway 3. This is due to Increased fire activity in your area. People are asked to safely leave the area. People who evacuate and need assistance can contact the American Red Cross at 530-276-8034. While leaving the area use caution as emergency vehicles assisting with evacuations, structure protection and fire suppression efforts will be on the roadways.”

This has been just frustrating. Thank the firefighters without a doubt but yeah this sucks ass!!!

Blue chopper has come over my place twice to refuel in gaberville and they are on there way back to the fire, I was able to watch the smoke come over grisly mountain from dyerville, black ash everywhere

Redding CHP indicating hwy 36 east bound be closed at Wildwood Ln due to Zogg fire. Highway 3 to 299 is still an option.
