Assault in Fortuna Sends Woman to Hospital
At approximately 5 p.m., a Fortuna Police dispatcher sent first responders to assist a woman with a head injury in the 1600 block of Main Street. The woman reported possibly being hit with a small metal object.
The suspects who left the scene possibly headed south are a man and a woman, according to a report over the scanner.

Any type of personal attack is unwarranted. It appears this occur near or around the entrance to Rohner Park. Homeless do sneak into town and camp next to the creek. Perhaps this was done by people who knew the woman? Perhaps the woman caused an altercation and it grew from there or-vice a versa? This report lacks lots of info to come to any logical interpretation. Let’s wait for PD to post more.
