On 07-19-2020, just before noon, the CHP Humboldt Communications Center was notified of a solo motorcycle crash on northbound US-101 just north of Jordan Road. A preliminary investigation by Officers determined that 70 year old Michael [Tully] of Eureka, for unknown reasons, was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle and was ejected, suffering major injuries. There were no other vehicles or persons involved in the crash. Mr. Tulley was conscious and alert at the scene, and was subsequently transported by emergency medical personnel to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of his injuries. However, CHP Officers later responded to St. Joseph’s Hospital for follow-up with Mr. Tulley and were notified that he had passed away as a result of his injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to have been a factor in this collision.
The CHP Humboldt Area Office is continuing to investigate this collision and asks anyone with information to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 707-822-5981 or send an email to [email protected].

Thinking of Mike. Always a smile when he greeted me. A mellow guy. Fun to kid around with. Shared many a Montebello party with him and the guys. All my love and heartfelt condolences to the Tully family and his friends.
Shocked and saddened to here about Mike. We grew up together and went to grammar school and high school together. We played sports together and had a blast as kids in Monterey Park.
