Fire Burning Northeast of Hoopa

A fire that reportedly began from several smaller fires this morning is burning northeast of Hoopa in the Mill Creek area east of Long Ridge Road this afternoon.

We haven’t been able to speak with Chief Rod Mendes as he is currently on the fire.

According to Cal Fire’s Jeremy Ward, Cal Fire is assisting Hoopa Tribe with resources. Shasta Trinity National Forest service also sent a helicopter to assist.

We’ll update as we know more.
