[UPDATE 3:19 p.m.] 101 Temporarily Closed After Crash North of Orick

A solo vehicle crash has closed Hwy 101 just north of Bald Hills Road and Orick, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.  One passenger is injured and an ambulance is responding to the scene.

An employee of the National Parks is there and reporting that an injured woman passenger is breathing but in and out of consciousness, according to a report made over the scanner.

The driver is outside the vehicle. The extent of anyone’s injuries are unclear.

UPDATE 12:11 p.m.: One way traffic is set up.

UPDATE 12:54 p.m.: According to Paul Croft, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, this is a single vehicle collision.  Three received moderate injuries and 1 person with received minor injuries.  “Traffic is backed up at this location while the tow truck works on getting the vehicle moved,” he warned.

UPDATE 3:19 p.m.: The roadway is open in both directions.
