Rather you didn’t report Highway 36 to the University of California, Berkeley, Willie.

Seems like a terrific idea. I posted a couple of times this morning for residential intersections in Fortuna. I hope the data that is collected gets used to make improvements.

One at Church St near the cemetery. Another at the bottom of the Ross Hill Road slope intersection with Kenmar.

Both locations have had near misses or greater with pedestrians or bike riders (kids vs cars).

Is there a road to your property central? Do you use it to get groceries and appliances and other useful items home? Are you aware the items you bring home hav e some sort of safety oversight so they dont sell you poisonous or dangerously defective goods?

I dont mean to pick on you. I hear what you mean by too much government power, but gosh you never give it a rest and you never see the upside either.

Government is as good and as bad as the people that tend to it. Abandoning and naysaying it, is not as helpful as you think.

We need to use more tools than just a hammer to build a good house ma’am.

~correct me if i’m wrong, ernestine, but by-in-large if you have been reading my comments for any length of time, you’d see i correlate them with a solution. Not just one, either.

Did you pick up on CHANGE YOUR STATUS from lowly U.S. second-class Citizen to State citizen? Link to the Trial Jury information i’ve posted? Checked on The County’s YEAR LATE Annual Financial Report?

Never give it a rest. You would be correct there. Maybe you could point out the “upside” of tyranny for us. This “Street Story” article merely employs more paper-pushers.

I’m open to ideas. Let’s hear ’em. Keep it “In law” or don’t bother.

Rhonerville Road at Newburg… at any time of the day or night. It is a race track from Ray’s food place to the park at all hours of the day. It should be 25 mph from the circle to Newburg or better yet to Senestaro just past the park to give all of the park users a chance to live long lives.

For me, it’s not so in my having issues with the streets that I drive on, but with a number of the drivers operating on them, especially when someone decided to beat school traffic, and that 80+mph on a 25mph at 8am near a major school was a good thing.
To add insult to injury, I was attempting to merge into traffic, and had to immediately stop since I was caught off guard by this individual’s rate of speed, and then given a dirty look when this individual had to hammer his brakes, and slow down to around 65mph. After passing me, it was hammer down, and back up to 80+.

Get out of the left lane.

Hell, driving in the right lane can be difficult, especially when one individual passed me on the right side at 140 mph, while they were entering the freeway at Sunset Blvd a few days before the 80 mph incident.
Must have been family members, with one being a slower learner.

You can report bad human behavior such as speeding or failure to yield using the app. Oddly enough, human behavior is affected by the physical road scape, and there are physical changes that can help.

Looks like it’s still strongly biased towards pedestrians and cyclists.

My friend who lives in Eureka will only drive the residential streets that have 4 way stops. She goes out of her way to do this. She says people speed through the intersections and if they do it with a 4 way stop the accident will be their fault.

It sounds like she may be too old to be driving. It’s unfortunate that people speed so dramatically, and so many intersections are effectively blind. Without a taller vehicle it is often impossible to see cross traffic. It matters little whose fault an accident is when you are killed.

Maybe you have a workable link as to WHEN this present so-called, Conservative admin in Wash DC is going to get around to that fabled “Infrastructure Week”. Waiting now on three years and still nada. Meanwhile US bridges and roads continue their slide into oblivion. And let’s not even mention rising sea water levels input because that would be a liberal bias.
Time for trump to deport Madam McConnell back to China as next step in tariff war since she isn’t doing a damn thing in Transportation Dept about much of anything except Kentucky welfare handouts to bolster hubby Moscow Mitch’s career.
Out of the box enough for ya?

There is a terrible intersection on the Weitchpec School Road and HW 96. One cannot see well either direction when entering 96, visibility of the intersection is not good, and people drive too fast on HW 96. Should be a speed zone and clearer signage of the hazard.

Should be a stoplight at the intersection of Harrison and the egress to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Harrison itself should probably re-worked in that stretch, possibly removing street parking to widen Harrison.

How about the folks at the old ” bumper factory ” at the base of upper Thomas right past the bridge? Invariably they leave trucks /trailers parked halfway into the road and often facing traffic!! It’s in a troublesome shaded spot after a small turn in the road, difficult to see at certain times of the day and I’m shocked no one has plowed into them yet . So we can’t park rigs with part of the vehicle in the lane of traffic without at least an orange cone, and if someone did collide when their trucks are facing the wrong way, even if it’s well off the road? Parked car guy 50% liable .

I reported a line of sight obscuring sign on humboldt hill, they did nothing.

Beginning to think no one cares .

You can go to the County of Humboldt’s public works website and report potholes, hazards, overgrown vegetation etc

Yeah, those speeders, just gets my dander up. But I found a solution. Check it out.

Don’t get caught. Helps if you’re a LEO, or have a friend who is.

Complain about all the potholes.
Fix the potholes.
Complain about the speeders.
Fix the speeders.

Went to town today. No close calls. First time in awhile for me. Had a junkie shooting up in my backyard though. Eureka.
