Temperatures Could Reach 100 Degrees Several Days This Week
Break out the fans and make plans to go swimming after school gets out as, depending on where you are, temperatures are expected to hit 100 degrees several times this week in the Emerald Counties. (Check your area’s weather forecast here.)
The National Weather Service in Eureka warns,
It’ll be continue to be hot Monday and Tuesday as valley temperatures are likely to reach 100 to 108 degrees. These afternoon temperatures alone will create a moderate risk for heat-related impacts, primarily for those sensitive to heat or those that spend extended time outdoors. Fortunately though, moderately cool overnight temperatures in the upper 50s to mid 60s should provide some heat relief.
Extended forecasts in multiple areas across the area warn that there will likely be a “gradual warming trend…through the middle of the week….Afternoon temperatures will climb to between 100 and 107 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday across many interior valleys, with low temperatures in the upper 50s to mid 60s.” However, some areas, such as Southern Humboldt might begin to cool on Wednesday, dropping to low eighties by Friday.

Pretty huge scientific community in agreement of geoengineering. Many empirically based books written on the subject.. Most people won’t read the books and or study the empirical statistics/information how ever because the conclusions don’t suit their interests and don’t present simple answers to the problems in life. Most are looking for simple answers and believe in them. Such as, ” it’s the Mexicans taking our jobs and ruining the country” , or ” them socialist commie wanna-bes are ruining our way of life”.
Simple problems simple answers – that’s what you’ll be indoctrinated with inside of the government/military/corporation mass media propaganda machine we call the global news networks. Unfortunately our society faces real complex problems currently that aren’t as simple as race, population , left or right. Europe roasted again this year and their biggest problem was , like hear in town. No air conditioning for most It would be silly to buy one in Eureka

Get one of them portable models on wheels that vents out a partially opened window. Only problem with that is you got to be home when it’s running, armed to the teeth and ready, given what a partially opened window means to the lowlife thieves around these parts.
I find the entire concept of “air conditioning” amusing. How did humans survive without it…? In deserts all over the globe for eons.
AND it’s use is a large contributor to the climate issues we now face.

I so agree. If it’s too hot to survive, there are lots bigger problems than someone’s personal discomfort. Air conditioners are right down there with leaf blowers and plastic hoop houses as insults to aesthetics and the earth. Quit living in concrete jungles while throwing the climate into extremes with petroleum combustion… don’t add to the problem by burning more of it.
Silly, silly. 60 years ago, I watched news people frying eggs on the side walk in the summer, people hold cold soft drink bottles against sweaty foreheads for a moment of relief before drinking it, announce it was too hot to go anywhere or do anything while wafting a fan slowly back and forth.. Kids sprawling in the shade too whipped by the heat and humidity to play. Music drifting out through open windows until late at night because no one could bear to shut a window, even when driven inside by mosquitos. I watched old people sitting on porches swaddled in quilts in 100 degree weather because keeping in body heat at 98 degrees under the blankets was less miserable than the ambient air in the shade. Such a long span of chronic heat debilitated the southern parts. And will again without air conditioning.
The comment about the power poles his right on that was what another one or two yesterday or last night what is it with everyone hitting power poles the kind of big drivers don’t pay attention around here very much evidently it’s getting worse
