[UPDATE 4:15 p.m.] Structure Fire North of Weaverville Near Bear Creek Road

A structure fire north of Weaverville several miles has firefighters concerned. The fire was called in about 3:30 p.m. and has spread from the structure into the wildlands

At least one tanker, tanker 96, is on the scene as of 4 p.m.

UPDATE 4:07 p.m.: According to a tweet by the Shasta Trinity National Forest, “Firefighters, including two engines and helicopter 6GH, are assisting @CALFIRESHU on the #CreekFire, which is a structure fire with a threat to vegetation, located on Bear Creek Road north of Weaverville… .”

UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: According to Cheryl Buliavac Information officer for the Cal Fire Shasta Trinity unit, This is a a fully involved structure fire with “no spread to the vegetation.” Bulliavac said, “There was a full wildland dispatch”–including a tanker but “that is just preparation, that way we have them in place if needed.”
