[UPDATE 5:56 p.m.] Wildfire Burning on Post Mountain

Vegetation Fire feature iconA wildfire was reported burning about 3:20 p.m. near Horseshoe Loop Road in the Trinity Pines area of Post Mountain off of Hwy 36 in Trinity County.

The US Forest Service, Hayfork Fire and Post Mountain Fire are responding to the incident which is reportedly spreading slowly but is approximately a 1/2 acre as of just before 4 p.m.

UPDATE 5:56 p.m.: According to WildCAD, the fire is now 1.7 acres. However, scanner traffic indicates that firefighters have a hose lay around the area of concern.

Maybe they should let it burn awhile while its so early in the season unless it threatens structures.
