I hope the person inside recovers.
Note to self:
Buying a car with high center of gravity I can’t drive at 80 MPH on 101 curves.

Almost had to learn that lesson the hard way doing 30 on a curve on a steep downgrade. Felt two of the wheels come off the ground and I just FREAKED!

South of the peg house is jitney gulch bridge whish has a reverse camber. Vehickes overturn there pretty often. Slowing down is good.

32* is freezing. Asphalt retains heat for a period of time. It takes days of below freezing and moisture to produce patches of black ice. Just please slow down. Expect the unexpected; deer, loose gravel, cyclists, ect. Black ice is called that for a reason. If that was the case there is no way to see it, and there are no freeze warnings issued at this time.

Remember that alot of that stuff stays in the shade most of the day. During this time of the year. Due to the trees. There are plenty of sections of road in humboldt that once they get iced up can take up to a week to thaw out. If they are not sections that see traffic(ie-shoulders and road edges. Throw a slippery white line in too and it gets worse.

though that looks like a 90’s era cherokee. Which are generally full time 4×4. They have the strange flaw that the quadratrac will act up in icey conditions and cause a rapid speed/power change. Dragging the rear and causing you to go off the road. I know about that problem first hand, having had it happen twice.

Honda VSA on the 2WD’s will do similar things in ice, wet pavement, loose gravel and mud. It transfers power to the tire which has more grip. Can be Dangerous. Think about how you drive and if turning off the VSA in those conditions is safer. I turn mine off, and then drive slower. Other All WD’s may have similar quirks – just be aware of whatever it is your vehicle does with any wheel power-transfer system. All wheel drive is NOT the same as 4WD. VSA on the Honda 2WDs seems to be only for dry pavement.

Hope everyone involved is okay. A bad stretch of road for ice and other debris. Drive safe people.

Taking photos while driving, especially through an accident scene, is not smart, and illegal.

It is not legal to talk on your phone while driving, but where does it say you can’t take a picture. I don’t even know if the driver was moving at the time.

That area hasn’t had frost all week. Looks more like driver error-lapse of attention, cut into the embankment, and flipped.
