[UPDATE 11:06 p.m.] High Speed Pursuit Near Fernbridge

Vehicle PursuitAt approximately 10 p.m., a Fortuna Police officer reported following a vehicle on northbound 101 that was failing to maintain its lane. The vehicle did not respond to an attempted traffic stop and sped off at 90 mph. The vehicle exited at Singley Hill and turned onto Waddington Road. The officer called for a spike strip.

“The vehicle is attempting to shake items out of the back at me. Nothing’s come out yet,” reported the officer.

The pursuit was at Waddington and Grizzley Bluff area, according to the officer over the scanner at 10:07 p.m.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 10:15 p.m.: The vehicle left the roadway and went into a field. Officers are now searching the area. The first officer describes the vehicle as black Toyota extended cab with something like a roll bar and a dangling license plate light. He says there might be front end damage “from going through a gate.”

UPDATE 10:44 p.m.: Two officers have located the tracks of the Toyota and are attempting to follow them on foot.

UPDATE 11:06 p.m.: The officers are returning without finding their suspect.

I don’t know about a Toyota truck but I do know that I am glad that the police tried to catch him. They are only doing their job and I am happy that they are out there. Kudos to the cops.

Why is FPD patrolling 101?

FPD are a bunch of chumps who only investigate for personal gain. That’s why they conveniently never seem to “locate the suspect”

Meanwhile the semi loaded with weed drove on south down 101 free and clear, just like Smokey and the Bandit.
