Large Law Enforcement Convoy Seen on Alderpoint Road as MET Conducts Cannabis Enforcement Operation
A large law enforcement convoy associated with a cannabis enforcement operation was traveling in the Alderpoint Road area of Southern Humboldt Thursday morning, according to witnesses and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
Two witnesses reported seeing the convoy on Alderpoint Road east of the Pratt Mountain area. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Redheaded Blackbelt that the convoy is part of an operation involving the county’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET).
One witness, who asked to remain anonymous, described seeing approximately four California Department of Fish and Wildlife vehicles, about six white unmarked vehicles and a skid steer being hauled on a trailer.
The precise location and target of the enforcement operation have not been confirmed.
Redheaded Blackbelt regularly reports in broad terms when large law enforcement convoys are traveling through rural communities. Such convoys can affect traffic on narrow rural roads, and cannabis enforcement operations have historically been a matter of significant concern to residents of Southern Humboldt and other rural areas of the North Coast.
Motorists traveling in the Alderpoint Road area Thursday morning may encounter additional law enforcement vehicles associated with the operation.
We will update when more information becomes available.
