Search Warrant leads to Arrest of Fortuna Man for suspicion of Distribution/Possession of Child Pornography

On July 2nd, 2026, the Fortuna Police Department served a search warrant on the 2000 blk of Newburg Road in the City of Fortuna for a subject identified as 24-year-old Kevin Ornelas Navarro. During the investigation evidence was located leading to the arrest of Ornelas Navarro for suspicion of Distribution/Possession of Child Pornography.

Ornelas Navarro was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for the following violations;
311.1(a) Of the California Penal Code (Distribution/Possession of Child Pornography.

The Fortuna Police Department would like to thank the Sacramento Sheriff Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Division for their assistance in this investigation.
