Trump saves women in Iran.

President Trump announced Wednesday that Iran will no longer execute eight women after he pleaded Tuesday for their freedom — calling it “very good news” in a social media post.
“I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Completely unverified. The Liar-in-Chief blowing smoke again.

Iran’s judiciary denied the core premise that eight women were scheduled for imminent execution at all, calling the claim misinformation.

Did you read the actual content? He *asked* that the women be released (but see Kris below), he did not *get* anything.

And you actually believe anything the current Injustice Dept says?
Pam Bondi recently fired as head because she wasn’t prosecuting enough of Trumps perceived enemies. New head now trying to make an impression. Patel the paranoid drunk involved.

Lawfare…The SPLC has long been a target of conservatives.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
DHS has repeatedly assessed that white supremacist violent extremists are the “most persistent and lethal” domestic terrorism threat in the United States (especially in its 2020 Homeland Threat Assessment and related reporting).

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The FBI, including Director Christopher Wray in congressional testimony, has said that racially motivated violent extremism—which includes white supremacist groups—makes up the largest share of domestic terrorism cases and is the most serious threat category within domestic terrorism investigations.

Attorneys in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) must comply with the professional and ethical standards set forth in department regulations and policies, state bar rules, and federal law. Since January 20, however, the second Trump administration has systematically dismantled the DOJ’s internal controls that help ensure compliance with these standards. This paper explains what those internal accountability systems were, how the administration has broken them, and how courts are grappling with the consequences as they confront a DOJ presenting questionable legal positions and assertions of fact, evading court orders, and overstepping its prosecutorial authority.

Before you defend the SPLC, you should read the 11-count federal grand jury indictment.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center’s (“SPLC”) stated mission included the dismantling of white supremacy and confronting hate across the country. However, unbeknownst to donors, some of their donated money was being used to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation, and the National Alliance. The SPLC’s paid informants (“field sources”) engaged in the active promotion of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website. The SPLC also had a field source who was a member of the online leadership chat group that planned the 2017 “Unite the Right” event in Charlottesville, Virginia. That field source made racist postings under the supervision of the SPLC and helped coordinate transportation to the event for several attendees. In order to covertly pay its field sources, the SPLC opened bank accounts connected to a series of fictitious entities. The covert nature of the accounts allowed the SPLC to disguise the true nature, source, ownership, and control of the fraudulently obtained donated money the SPLC paid the field sources. In order to keep the scheme going, the SPLC made a series of false statements related to the operation of the accounts.”

Sol Wachtler the former Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, famously stated in 1985 that “any good prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich”. The quote highlights the immense influence prosecutors have over grand juries, which often act as a “rubber stamp” for indictments.

I’m sure nobody wanted that donated money to go to paid field sources.
Besides I haven’t been feeling all that much supremacy since all these loony tunes think the ethnics deserve to get the same cool shit I do. It’s not as cool that way.
Maybe the FBI should consider infiltraitering organizations that work to empower blacks and Chicanos, and anti war protesters too.

We expected you to double-down on your partisan beliefs. I accept the likelihood that some (many) people will never be able to discern truth from fiction even as their heroes are exposed in the light of truth as frauds, and their houses of lies come tumbling down, exposing the inherent perfidy & gaslighting which mislead them.

Of course, it is also obvious that it is you who are convinced that it is we—I—who are the delusional ones. You’ve placed your faith in the mainstream media which reaffirms your biases, and I have enough sense to admit that nothing is likely to change that.

But I do see one difference which is—from my vantage the folks on this side present their views with joy, love, and generosity. We welcome the converts who can and do ascend out of proscribed conventional beliefs. We wish the light to illuminate the darkness. And what I observe among those who I once considered to be my tribe (before I myself woke up from my delusions) is that you come off as if you are angry all the time—full of angst. Your words are scornful, and your laughter is bitter derision, but never joyful.

I used to be so empathetic, compassionate and placed egalitarianism highest on my moral code. I still esteem those values, but I’ve learned that the most important value is truth. First seek truth, then love. Not the other way around. Because the loving compassionate ones are the marks—the most likely to be gaslit, grifted, used & abused, misled & betrayed. Too many shiny ones—thought leaders, social influencers, social justice advocates, charities, & NGOs—turn out to be self-serving grifters or deep state operatives.

I feel sorry you live and feel so miserably, so much of the time. But I respect your right to decide for yourself what to think, believe, and feel. My world is big enough and my faith strong enough to allow others to think and believe for themselves. I wish you peace.

Truth first, then love! Peace!

It’s an indictment by the Trump Administration– not a conviction.
There is a big and important difference.
Unfortunately, given the times we liver in, the credibility of the accuser has to be considered.
And that credibility is not very high.

It’s not “an indictment by the Trump Administration” — it’s an 11-count indictment from a federal grand jury based on evidence, including the SPLC’s own bank records and the creation of fictitious entities to hide payments. The allegation is that they took donor money meant to fight extremism and secretly funneled millions to KKK leaders and neo-Nazi affiliates instead.

This DoJ often presents highly misleading information to the Grand Jury and the indictments are often getting tossed before ever going to trial.

That’s a pretty distorted representation of what they are actually charged with.

The Justice Department alleges the SPLC made false statements to banks in order to set up accounts used to funnel money to informants. The group said the program was used to monitor threats of violence and the information was often shared with local and federal law enforcement. https://apnews.com/article/southern-poverty-law-center-criminal-investigation-db7fdcf9baa0d1b24b8f1e1f2cebc0be?utm_source=onesignal&utm_medium=push&utm_campaign=2026-04-21-Breaking+News

Of course Trump’s DOJ is going after an organization that goes after some of Trump’s most ardent supporters.

Of course, the SPLC, Trump’s most ardent detractors, tried to infiltrate a group whom you call Trump’s most ardent supporters in order to make whom you call Trump’s most ardent supporters look bad…

Looks like it has, unsurprisingly, backfired…

It’s not a distorted representation of the allegations in the grand jury indictment. Here is a direct quotation from it:

“Between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly funneled more than $3 million in SPLC funds to Fs who were associated with various violent extremist groups.”

The Fs are the SPLC’s so-called field sources.

I haven’t paid that much attention but…when police sources pay informants in the mafia is that considered funding the mafia?

No. Police don’t solicit public donations promising to “dismantle the mafia,” then secretly funnel millions of that money to made mafia bosses and capos through fake shell companies while lying to donors and banks about it.

The SPLC did exactly that — raised funds claiming to fight extremism, then paid over $3M to KKK leaders, Aryan Nations, and neo-Nazi figures. That’s why it’s 11 counts of wire fraud and money laundering, not legitimate informant work. The grand jury saw the bank records.

The problem the DOJ has is they have to prove intent to defraud. The SPLC was not trying to defraud for gain, and believed they were acting in the best interests of the public. The
SPLC has along history of fighting for justice and doing good things.
The one charge that may stick is the lying to a bank. Anyway this case will drag on for years and most likely end up in front of the Supreme Court.
Before then the big news will be the impeachment of Trump and this case will be forgotten.

In your hypothetical scenario, are the police sources creating fictitious businesses and lying to banks in an attempt to conceal their actions?

Have you read the indictment? (It’s only 11 pages and it’s not at all a difficult read.)

You’re right. That line is in the indictment. But that doesn’t automatically mean what you’re suggesting.

Paying sources inside criminal or extremist groups isn’t unusual. As I said before, law enforcement does it all the time. The real question here is how it was done—whether donors were misled or banks were lied to.

That’s the actual case…not just “money went to bad people,” but was there fraud?

The SPLC says this was part of monitoring threats, not supporting them and prosecutors still have to prove intent, which is the hard part.

There is no public evidence — in fundraising appeals, annual reports, website materials, or elsewhere prior to the indictment — that the SPLC ever disclosed to donors the specific practice of paying informants inside these groups with their contributions. The program was deliberately kept secret to protect sources and operations, which is precisely why the fraud allegations focus on the nondisclosure.

The indictment’s core claim is that donors were not told — this was not a transparent part of SPLC’s public messaging or donor communications. SPLC has called the indictment politically motivated and denies the charges, but the factual record on donor disclosure is clear: it was not done.

Donors were misled AND banks were lied to.

Study of 11,000 US Teens Links Cannabis Use to Slower Brain Development
https://www.sciencealert.com/study-of-11000-us-teens-links-cannabis-use-to-slower-brain-development

A long-term study of more than 11,000 children and teens has linked recreational cannabis use to slightly slower development of memory, attention, and thinking skills.
The findings add to public health advice that teens should avoid cannabis use, as it may harm the developing brain.

The researchers assessed participants’ cognitive development over time using a series of tests that gave scores on immediate recall, delayed memory, processing speed, inhibitory control, visuospatial processing, language, and working memory.

They found that teens who used cannabis tended to have slower growth in all areas of cognitive development. This cohort actually tended to score just as well as or even better than their peers prior to cannabis use. But once cannabis had become part of their lives, their progress waned.

Teens with exposure to tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, had far greater problems with memory than those who didn’t use cannabis, while those whose cannabis use was limited to CBD (a small subgroup) had relatively normal scores.

The research was published in Neuropsychopharmacology.

Oh no…

Raging hormones and increased social stresses at that age make such studies nearly impossible. Liife and living — the realization of what it will take — are huge factors in mental development, imo.

IMHO:

Deliberately inhaling toxic fumes into your lungs.

Mental and Cognitive Health Risks

  • Addiction: Roughly 3 in 10 users may develop cannabis use disorder, characterized by failed attempts to quit and interference with daily life.
  • Psychosis and Mental Health: Regular use is linked to a higher risk of developing schizophrenia and other psychoses.
  • Cognitive Impairment: Short-term effects include impaired memory, concentration, and learning.
  • Mental State: Potential for acute anxiety, panic attacks, and paranoia.

Physical Health Risks

  • Cardiovascular Issues: Associated with rapid heartbeat (tachycardia) and a 29% higher risk of heart attacks and 20% higher risk of stroke.
  • Respiratory Issues: Smoking cannabis causes chronic bronchitis, coughing, and wheezing.
  • Cannabis Poisoning: Overconsumption, particularly via edibles, can cause severe, temporary adverse reactions requiring emergency care.
  • Pregnancy: Use during pregnancy is linked to lower birth weight and potential developmental issues.
  • Testicular Cancer: Limited evidence suggests a link between frequent, chronic use and non-seminoma-type testicular germ cell tumors.

Special Concerns

  • High Potency Products: Modern, highly concentrated THC products increase the likelihood of severe addiction and adverse mental health episodes.
  • Youth and Young Adults: Early initiation of use is associated with a greater risk of addiction and negative effects on brain development.
  • Withdrawal: Chronic users may experience irritability, insomnia, and appetite loss when stopping.

Dopers always try to ‘explain it away’.

They are going to hold a festival soon !

Unclear from the study also is the form of cannabis used or how.

While not for kids, I recommend using only weed — flowers or leaf — not eating flowers or leaf, unless you know the correct dosage, and definitely not using any concentrates. No vapes, shatter, etc.. Those will most definitely, quickly and effectively will make you stupid!

Well, I can’t get that one to play…although by clicking the 3 horizontal bars on the player right side at the bottom, two more tunes in the playlist are revealed…so…here’s something entirely different. Two somethings actually…

Five feet high and rising – Johnny Cash

and this one, in 3-2/3 / 4 time signature (count 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2)

Upstart – Don Ellis (you may notice something unusual about that trumpet he’s holding — has 4 valves instead of the usual three — a quarter-tone trumpet he invented! In the following number you can hear him playing the 1/4 tones.)

China’s CATL reveals 621-mile EV battery, under-7-minute charging to challenge BYD
https://interestingengineering.com/energy/catl-ev-battery-7-minute-charge

CATL said its latest Qilin battery — a high-energy-density pack often paired with nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) cells for long range and improved space efficiency — can deliver a 1,000-km (621-mile) driving range.

It is designed to deliver long range while reducing battery pack weight.

The company said the product is aimed at automakers facing tighter efficiency rules in China and other markets.

It also rolled out an upgraded Shenxing battery — CATL’s fast-charging lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack,—that targets one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: charging time.

CATL said the pack can recharge from 10 percent to 98 percent in less than seven minutes.

The company also announced plans to begin mass delivery of sodium-ion batteries in the fourth quarter. Sodium-ion technology is seen as a lower-cost alternative that could reduce dependence on lithium, cobalt, and nickel.

There is plenty of food in America. If you don’t have food you can apply for food stamps or go to a food bank. No one is starving to death in America.

I for one, am glad that Trump is going after Iran for building nuclear bombs after 47 years of chanting “Death to America! Death to Israel!” in their Parliament. Enough is enough. The Persians support the bombing, they want the Regime gone so they can have their country back. The Regime is an alien entity to Iran & the Persians want their country back.

There is plenty of food in the US if you have money. If you do not, then food is a lot harder to come by, especially nutritious food.

Plus millions have lost access to food stamps because of legislation passed by this administration. Hunger is a real and persistent problem because we view poverty as a personal failure, even when it’s kids who are suffering.

Except there is no evidence that Iran was building a nuclear bomb.
Besides, there was a deal that was worked out when Obama was President that prevented them from doing such.

@realDonaldTrump
A RIGGED ELECTION TOOK PLACE LAST NIGHT IN THE GREAT COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA! .
In addition to everything else, the language on the Referendum was purposefully unintelligible and deceptive. As everyone knows, I am an extraordinarily brilliant person, and even I had no idea what the hell they were talking about in the Referendum, and neither do they! ” President DONALD J. TRUMP
This is just part of a Truth Social rant from the “extraordinarily brilliant” Donald J. Trump
He also claimed to be a “very stable genius” as I recall..

Any election that doesn’t go his way is a rigged election.

Billionaire backer sues Trump family’s crypto firm over alleged extortion
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8x7kxjgq9xo

Justin Sun has accused World Liberty of an “illegal scheme” to seize his WLFI tokens, a cryptocurrency issued by the company.

Sun is an ardent supporter of Trump and his stance on cryptocurrencies, but accused “certain individuals” associated with World Liberty of acting against the president’s values.

“They wrongfully froze all of my tokens, stripped me of my right to vote on governance proposals, and have threatened to permanently destroy my tokens by ‘burning’ them – all without any proper justification,” he said in a social media post announcing the lawsuit.
