Solo Crash Blocks Northbound 101 Lanes Near Fortuna; Roadway Covered in Oil

The crash was reported around 2 p.m. The vehicle, a Ford Fusion, struck the median and came to rest blocking the fast lane and part of the slow lane. Scanner traffic reported the roadway was covered in oil following the impact.
The driver reported that another vehicle cut her off, causing her to swerve. The extent of the driver’s injuries was not immediately known.
Fortuna Fire was on scene and CHP conducted a traffic break northbound near Kenmar while units responded. Humboldt Towing was dispatched to the scene. Units were eventually able to push the Ford Fusion into the northbound number one lane.

That car passed me doing about 80 just south of Fortuna. I am a cruise control speed limit driver. I hope she slows down and looks ahead and uses her mirrors and turn signals in the future
Does not sound like she is very bright. Drive like a jackass and crash like a jackas.

It’s difficult to believe people on their face values anymore. Motorist’s do speed in that area, but those are privelidged driver’s who are special.
She was in a hurry to ruin her expensive car – happens all the tIme with tailgaters too they can’t wait to ruin their own vehicles – weird stuff

Well it’s definitely worth less now than it was isn’t it? If it was only originally worth $20; it’s now only worth $2 ha!!!!!!

I was behind this driver along with another driver who was in front of me. We were first on scene and saw the entire collision. We were thankfully safe enough behind to avoid damage but were also able to see what happened. This driver was absolutely not cut off. The driver did not veer with the curve in the road and slammed directly into the median and spun to a stop. When I passed the driver to get to a safe location and park, the driver was on their phone. It was awful collision and I hope the driver it not hurt.
Fortuna is the worst to drive through. There’s people going 60 in the slow lane and 63 in the fast lane with a bunch of idiots trying to go 80 it’s a joke I would like a bypass, please.
Too bad. I got news for ya. 101 is bypassing Fortuna.
If you haven’t noticed the GIANT yellow sign while driving northbound, it says “All vehicles use left lane next 1/2 mile” to make room for the merge from Main Street right after the turn.
You’re right Vinny thanks for the news and information about the big yellow sign.🤣 while driving through Fortuna on the bypass 101 the drivers are the worst. Is that better I’m sorry.
