Humboldt County Ballots Hit Mailboxes May 4 — Here’s How to Return Yours

Every active registered voter will receive a ballot in the mail, and you have three easy options to return it:

Ballot Return Options

  • By Mail – Simply drop your completed ballot in any U.S. Postal Service mailbox. Postage is pre-paid, so no stamp is needed!
  • Ballot Drop Box – Place your ballot in any official ballot drop box located throughout Humboldt County.
  • Vote Center – Drop off your ballot or vote in person at any Vote Center.

Important Dates

Vote-by-mail ballots will begin mailing on May 4, 2026.

Voters can return their ballots as soon as they receive them.

Drop boxes and select vote centers will be available starting May 4 for your convenience.

Be sure to get you papers in order. Have an ID when you vote. Bring water too. If you have a cell phone (who doesn’t, right) you can use maps to find your polling place.

All totally unnecessary. Your ballot will come in the mail. Fill it out. Mail it in or use a drop box.

If you mail in your Ballot…
Take it to your Post Office and have the clerk hand stamp it with the time and date. Then take a picture of it before you drop it in the mail box.
You now have proof of when your Ballot was mailed.

California has ‘Ballot Tracking’ which is an app that allows you to follow your Ballot from your Post Office to when your VOTE is accepted and counted.

If you go to VOTE at a Ballot Center or Election Center, try to take a friend or two.

WE NEED to VOTE VOTE VOTE!!
It IS our right as an American!
