Motorcycle Down on Arcata Freeway On-Ramp

Motorcycle Crash Feature iconA motorcycle crash sent one rider to the side of the road Tuesday afternoon on the southbound U.S. 101 on-ramp at Giuntoli Lane in Arcata.

The California Highway Patrol received the call at approximately just before 2:30 p.m. on April 7. The initial report indicated the motorcycle was down across both lanes of the on-ramp, with the rider on the right-hand shoulder. The incident was later upgraded to a minor injury collision.

Douchebag season is early this year. Hopefully law enforcement will get brave enough to do their jobs and start impounding excessively loud bikes.

All the fines could go to fixing the roads.

Your comment is just plain nasty and out-of-place. I am very sure that loud exhaust pipes did not cause the biker to crash. Just shut the hell up until you have the actual facts!

The only time I’ve ever gone down on pavement is because of sand or oil on the road from another vehicle. Sucks.

They also ruin a pleasant and quiet Sunday morning when dozens of them cruise around the Arcata plaza for an excessive amount of time.

Too bad no one’s developed a quiet mode so as to not piss off the neighbors.

I’m the person that crash. I was just trying to get home and my back tire slid going like 50 and I slid on the grass into the middle of the highway I got up immediately after the crash move my bike to the side because it was in the middle of the road. I only have road burn and my side hurts like a horse kick me on my side,I’m happy to be alive because I’m only 19 and I want to live longer I just hate I lost my beautiful bike RIP my 🏍️

I’m glad to know you will survive with a minor reminder to dress for the slide, not the ride.

I’m glad you survived your donormobile with only bruises and road rash. Consider it a cheap lesson. /lecture
