[Update] Two Rottweilers Seen Waiting Alone at Forks of the Eel North of Weott

Two Rottweilers were spotted this morning near the Forks of the Eel, sitting quietly outside a restroom building at the convergence of the Forks of the Eel (Dyerville rest stop north of Weott. In the photo, one dog appears to be waiting near the walkway while the other rests in the shade nearby.

The pair appear calm but alone, and it’s unclear how long they’ve been there or whether they wandered off or were left behind.
We are hoping to reconnect them with their people as soon as possible.

Update: Megan with Humboldt County Animal Control let us know that they have picked up the two Rottweilers. The dogs are in the shelter if any one recognizes them, call 707 840 9132.

How heartbreaking. Will someone take them some food? Hoping for a happy outcome.

I hope they weren’t abandoned, and someone is sitting in the head waiting for the plop. Likely were abandoned, as they are unleashed and just waiting. Let me know where they go Kym and I’ll adopt them. I love rotties.

Thank you! Those look to be beautiful dogs. And Thank You Kym for running these occasional dog stories! All dogs are great- and some people are too. But dogs…Yes! Big babies that need us to be good with them…

Poor things. This is so darned cruel. I hope they are rehomed with decent people soon.

Please somebody adopt these dogs! Rotties have a hard time getting adopted because like Pit Bulls they are assumed to be dangerous. Not so- if they are sweet dogs then you will have very loyal and good natured protectors and friends. Like pitties they need attention so just know that ahead of time. Include them and love them. And rescue them…
