Suspicious Device Prompts Road Closure in Rosewood Neighborhood
A road closure was established near the intersection of Oak Street and E Street in the Rosewood neighborhood just before 10 a.m. Wednesday following the discovery of a suspicious device, according to scanner traffic and a statement from Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Erin Inskip.
The area sits just outside the Eureka city limits. Deputies blocked off the road as a precautionary measure while the HCSO Bomb Squad responded to the scene.
According to Inskip, the device has since been rendered safe. The investigation into the nature and origin of the device is ongoing.
