[UPDATE 11:10 p.m.] Residential Structure Fire Reported East of Fortuna

Structure Fire LaFeverFirefighters were dispatched around 3:29 p.m. Saturday to a structure fire near the end of Holman Way, east of Fortuna.

According to scanner traffic, the person reporting the fire told dispatchers that flames were visible coming from the structure. Vehicles were reportedly parked outside the residence, and the caller indicated there were pets at the property, though it was unknown whether anyone was inside the home at the time of the report.

As firefighters responded to the scene, scanner traffic indicated the home was fully involved in flames.

This is a developing situation, and information may change as more details become available.

Update 4:03 p.m.: The Incident Commander requested an additional water tender from mutual aid. The road is blocked and those responding still are requested to stage at the hydrant.

Update 6:20 p.m.: Many of the firefighters have been released from the fire.

UPDATE 11:10 p.m.: Fortuna Fire has left the scene and the incident is considered finished.

I sure hope if there were pets and people inside the structure that they have found their way out and will be ok. It does sound like the structure is going to be a total loss. How very sad.

I am truly, so very sorry for the people involved in the fire I hope everybody was safe and all of the pets got ok and I’m very sorry lost your house

So am I. Just heard who the owner was, known her and her brother for years. So sad to lose a family home like that.
