Six Rivers National Forest Now Hiring

The Six Rivers National Forest is now hiring temporary seasonal Forestry Technician positions for the upcoming summer 2026 season in recreation and active management. Local residents encouraged to apply!

Do you love working outdoors in amazing landscapes? Do you want to help people have the best possible experience on national forests and grasslands? If your answer is yes, a Forestry Technician position is the job for you. Forestry technicians perform most of their duties outdoors, which could include trail repair, campground maintenance, visitor information, and wilderness protection. These are temporary positions, not to exceed 1,039 hours.

These positions are in addition to seasonal fire hire events, already underway. Bringing on seasonal employees will help improve trails, campgrounds and facilities for safer, reliable and enjoyable recreation experiences for all.

If I was still young, I would sure try to get a job with Six National Forest Service. I love the out of doors and all things associated with it. Most are temporary positions, but you still get to work for a total of 1,039 hours. It could lead to a better job with the forest service in the future. Not sure what you will be paid, but it is worth checking out on one of the websites.
