Garberville Fire Protection District Fire Chief Tim Tietz reported that no one was injured in the collision. The impact, however, left the pole severely damaged and caused a power outage affecting the south end of town.

As of 4:15 p.m., PG&E’s outage map showed 18 customers without electricity, with service estimated to be restored by 5:45 p.m. According to Tietz, Ray’s Food Place confirmed it is operating on generator power and will remain open to serve customers during the outage.

Apparently no one was in the vehicle. That’s what I read from different people who saw it happen. Lady left the vehicle to go into a house and the vehicle rolled?

Roll down the hill from the drug house up above. Apparently “their dog pushed it into drive.”
