During a series of raids in late June targeting unlicensed cannabis cultivation sites across parts of Trinity County (including Trinity Pines), authorities uncovered a host of concerning violations—ranging from environmental damage to possible human trafficking and severe animal neglect.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, served search warrants on 20 properties between June 23 and June 25. Sheriff Tim Saxon said his team, supported by personnel from the California National Guard, Bureau of Land Management, and the county’s District Attorney’s Office, seized 1,478 cannabis plants and destroyed 1,445 pounds of processed marijuana. Eight firearms were also confiscated, along with 24 containers of illegal, foreign-labeled pesticides.
“We’re finding Chinese labeled pesticides as well as pesticides coming in from South America too,” Saxon told us.
Environmental concerns topped the list of violations. Saxon said they documented 32 environmental violations, including pesticides getting into the waterways. Pesticides, he said, can “impact our food chain, from the wildlife all the way down to the fisheries. Eventually it gets into our water system too. So at some point in time we’re going to be drinking [contaminated] water.” He also noted that law enforcement personnel who served the search warrants were exposed to hazardous chemicals at these illegal grow sites, which he said is a safety concern.
In one especially disturbing incident, law enforcement encountered abandoned animals while driving up to serve a warrant. According to Saxon, his officers saved two puppies and one adult dog from dangerous conditions. One additional puppy was found already dead. The live animals were transported to shelters after being given water by deputies and assessed by Animal Control.
Officers also discovered two booby traps—though none of the personnel were injured during the operation—and detained five individuals, one of whom was arrested and later released.
At one location, investigators encountered several foreign nationals believed to be agricultural workers and found signs suggesting possible human trafficking. Victim Witness Specialists from the District Attorney’s Office, who are trained in identifying trafficking indicators, interviewed the men. According to Saxon, the men appeared unwilling to speak about the situation, and as a result, investigators could not confirm whether they were victims of trafficking.
Saxon said all 20 sites searched had over 200 plants, with the smallest grow operation yielding 206 plants.
Saxon emphasized that each targeted site had been verified as not holding a
local or state cultivation license.
The raids also featured an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter from the California National Guard, typically used in combat support and personnel recovery missions. Its role during the raids was to provide overhead surveillance and emergency evacuation support, if needed. The helicopter’s presence—spotted and photographed by local residents—sparked widespread social media speculation in the days surrounding the raids.
The helicopter support seen during the raids was provided by the California National Guard through the DOJ’s EPIC program, which Sheriff Saxon described as “an agreement that we have every year with the [Department of Justice] to assist us. The program is called EPIC.” EPIC—short for the Eradication and Prevention of Illicit Cannabis—represents the modern evolution of the former CAMP (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) program. Led by the California Department of Justice, EPIC brings together multiple federal, state, and local agencies to address the environmental damage, labor exploitation, and economic harm caused by unlicensed cannabis cultivation. The program coordinates with DOJ’s Cannabis Control Section, Special Prosecutions Section, and Tax Recovery and Underground Economy (TRUE) Task Force to investigate and prosecute both civil and criminal cases tied to illegal grow operations.
Efforts like these are part of a broader, ongoing strategy by local and state resources to curb illegal cultivation and its impacts across Trinity and neighboring counties. “We’re doing our best up here in the north state,” Saxon said. “We’re working together with, with all of our partner agencies, with our partner counties, especially Humboldt County, Mendocino County, Lake County and Siskiyou County, to combat this.”
Saxon confirmed that there had been more law enforcement activity recently in Trinity County in the Trinity Pines area. But, he told us, that was not TCSO but rather the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Maybe the national guard could help the yokel police solve a murder!or how to collect evidence. If pot wasn’t the top priority for those dumb hicks
Oh but they are really concerned about human trafficking!!! That’s why they let everybody go…But oh- the dogs! They are saved! They will be taken to the shelter and be euthanized there…Sounds like a CAMP press release….nothing much has changed
Modern- day CAMP. Funded in part by permit holders. And don’t forget- Every little bit you buy at a permitted dispensary helps fund the new CAMP!
The CAMP program and the National Guard are federally funded. The sheriff has taken a significant portion of funding from Measure S, yet none of the promised services—such as drug treatment and mental health care—have come to fruition.
Just because someone is a foreign national doesn’t mean they’re here illegally; perhaps that’s why they weren’t apprehended. Still, I find it hard to believe that ICE won’t eventually come knocking on growers’ doorsthey did it to Glass House. But Glasshouse apparently had multiple lawsuits for non-payment violations and probably called ICE on themselves.
But here’s what I don’t understand: if authorities care so much about illegal immigration, why do they never prosecute the people who employ undocumented workers? Why punish the exploited rather than the exploiters?
I stand corrected EPIC is a state agency.

That Catherine Austin Fitts podcast was an eye opener. She says point blank, it’s corrupt from the bottom all the way to the top. It’s just too much money sitting around. Brother, at this stage in the game, you go into politics to increase your chances of surviving what’s coming for the rest of us. Get as much altitude above the zombie apocalypse.
Everything you see is either the building blocks of the control grid or the kill grid.
All the money getting bureaucratically disappeared is just the exchange for our politicians to go along with it all.
if you understand Whitney Webbs one nation under blackmail, then you know how this world operates.
Bill gates and others were given their wealth so they could be tapped later to run these operations with plausible deniability, make no mistakes, this is a planned military operation against all the people of the world .
Sometimes I question the intelligence of being upset about it
In a way, it shouldn’t be too surprising given how fucking pathetic our society has become and the people at the top see the useless eaters at the bottom as the target for disposal
How many people have had to deal with the baggage and financial burden of listening to the science with family and close friends taking experimental vaccines etc
How many people have multiple sclerosis, or whatever else they get from a weakened Immune system
the kill grid is in place
they are still working on the control grid
You got that right, Brother, as Hulk Hogan used to say. RIP Brother. PS the Cement people can eat that mRNA experimental political psyop shot and those dumbazz useless masks they used as a cudgel and love so much, screw them. Traitors. Keep the country, country.
And I believe Measure S is a Humboldt thing, not Trinity
lets pretend you don’t know and explain anyways, there is one movement which has always loved the idea of slavery, some feel they have been prophesied to hold slaves in a religious sense, but their entire history in the modern historic context is defined by slavery operations colonizing and drug trafficking, see the white fleet that ‘opened’ imperial china by force to opium, the Barbary coast wars, they are the hidden ‘black nobility’ of Europe but from the east. No they are not Israelites.
I see that you remember a few phrases from your high school history class but you don’t have a clue to what they mean. The opium wars were fought between the British and Chinese 60 years before the American Great White Fleet toured the world. Neither event is connected to the other.
The Barbary Coast War was the first overseas war fought by America. It was against North African pirates who were attacking American shipping and enslaving captured Europeans and Americans. So that one had a bit to do with slavery in a way opposite to the way you implied.
For what it’s worth I contacted President Trump about prosecuting the people who employ undocumented workers several times. Try it as it only takes a minute. The employers must be held responsible.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement may conduct audits of employees’ I-9 forms — the federal employment authorization documents every U.S. worker must fill out. Employers are given time to make corrections if errors are found. But if problems persist, or investigators find a pattern of violations, fines from ICE can range from $288 to $28,619 per worker, depending on the type and severity of the violation, according to the Economic Policy Institute. The Columbus Dispatch
“When employers are punished, the punishment and fines levied on employers are so minimal that they are unlikely to be effective at deterring illegal conduct, and the harshest penalties are rare because the legal standard for them is difficult to prove and they are reserved for repeat violators,” reads a report from the Economic Policy Institute.
Yep, and I’m glad they are raiding. F u all
Trickle down trauma.

“Kill them All” aka the kill grid.
here’s the thing, the people in the positions of power that spend your tax dollar donations creating control grid and kill grid systems and slowly eroding your comfort zone, especially when you think our elected representatives give a single solid phuk about you or your family.
Good ole Prop. 64. and government intervention.
“The reimbursable rate to fly an HH-60G Pave Hawk (a predecessor to the Fire Hawk but with similar operating costs) is $10,525 per hour for Federal agencies.”
I want one!
The Blackhawk probably costs a couple of thousands of dollars more to fly in Humboldt due to extra fuel costs.
Who pays Ernie!?
we the people
just can’t pull our fingers
off the tax crack pipe!
im not sure if you’ve listened to economic legend Catherine Austin Fitts, but it’s worth a listen.
your generation had it the best.
maybe our childrens children will know that story and what was taken from them by a very focused and motivated and well funded group of lawyers representing the most powerful families in the world
people complaining about Federal, State and County working together to stop black-market, likely foreign cartel, grows, thereby helping the legal farmer by reducing black market sales, AND protecting environment from flagrantly irresponsible use of dangerous chemicals.
It’s funny you say this because if you follow these helicopters on flight radar, they only circle legal farms
They’re not going after the illegal growers here in Mendocino county, they only have circled legal farms.
If you don’t find them on flight radar then follow them on ads-b exchange.
Here’s a screenshot from a previous flight they took earlier this year showing they only circle legal farms in Mendocino county.
Is there any evidence that these guys have ever flown Apple orchards? Pear orchards? Wheat fields? Vineyards?
Do they only utilize their high definition cameras to harass legal cannabis growers to make sure they’re not utilizing illegal substances on their farms? Do they not enforce this same aggressiveness on food producers? The alcohol industry? If tobacco industry?
Why are they so aggressive towards marijuana and not everything else that we consume?
you forget the history of legalizing alcohol after it was banned. yes they went after black market alcohol producers, it was the mob then, cartels now. black market tobacco is pretty much a non item but the pricing is starting to make that am issue. as for aggressive, man up “ big rick” do the crime, do the time. pretty simple.
If there were a permit pathway that wasn’t so complex, expensive, and punitive toward farmers, perhaps people would have a different outlook. We’re facing thousands upon thousands of dollars in application and permit fees…fees designed to gatekeep the very people who built this industry from continuing the work their families have curated, created, and even gone to prison for over generations.
So no, I don’t support CAMP 3.0. not without significant reform of the legal market, which is currently choking out small farmers. They’re being blocked from selling their own products due to restrictive distribution requirements. Meanwhile, the Water Board continues to impose punitive fee structures that actually discourage compliance and environmental stewardship. Add to that rampant county level corruption and nepotism, which rewards a select few while killing their competition through drawn-out permit processing and egregious land-use requirements.
I was always against legalization because I knew this was how it was going to end up. should have been de-criminilized. why would anyone pay to grow a crop? terrible idea but everyone thought it was great.
farmer!
have we gotten the memo yet!?!?!
this is not a fair system
Pay to play
if you truly understand how real power works, you understand everything you need to!
you pay into the campaigns of people in power and you get access and preferential treatment
Operation grease them wheels
Bingo! That’s why the link below about why Trump won’t legalize was so interesting—not because of Sean Spicer, but because it names the PACs that donated to Trump’s campaign. Miracle-Gro, CuraLeaf, Altria, and other big names are on the list. We already know that regulations are often used to kill competition and protect those who’ve gained political favor.
There’s been talk that federal legalization might require having a licensed pharmacist on staff. Guess who won’t be able to meet that requirement! And maybe with rescheduling, we’ll see doors open for some while others remain shut.
I guess you don’t know that the black market is about 50% permitted farms selling out the back door? And you missed the reports of permitted testing laboratories under-reporting pesticides in weed from permitted farms….Permitted is pay-to-play and is nothing ethical or moral involved
“An HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, equipped with a mid-air refueling probe and side-mounted weaponry“
where’s the side mountain weaponry?
are you talking about the mounting for the wheels?
This is an unarmed aircraft. The only thing mounted to it is that extremely high powered camera on the nose. I see these helicopters every year and they never have guns on them.
it’s not lawful for them to utilize their weaponry on American citizens.
you might want to edit this because that’s a false statement.
Operation Green sweep bro.
“This marked the first time that the government had ever used military force against its own citizens in a drug operation. It also established that law enforcement officials—now cooperating with U.S. military forces—have the ability to search, seize and detain, without warrant or probable cause, in the war on drugs. Property may be seized regardless of evidence and forfeited to the state or federal government without regards to the Fourth Amendment.[6]” -Wiki …but least we forget this isn’t Federally legal and we just begining to understand how this administration will conduct raids or if they will ultimately respect California State Rights .

Huffman’s SHIP ACT was something he must have initially dreamed up “ON THE ROCKS”, and so, it was most assuredly, FOREVER DESTINED to VERY PREDICTABLY go ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE…!!!
HUFFMAN’S “SHIP” WAS ALREADY SUNK, WAY BEFORE IT WAS EVER EVEN FLOATED…

ANYONE FOLLOWING HUFFMAN IS ALREADY LOST BEFORE THEY EVEN KNOW IT…!!!
And the 13 PRO HUFFMAN downvoters willingly went down with the “SHIP”…

“I’m not so sure there’s a dependency between H.R.4595 and federal reclassification or legalization….”
Your WRONG again, melanopsin, H.R. 4595 is DEFINITELY contingent upon federal legalization, as is clearly and prominently shown on the last page, page 6, of YOUR linked pdf…
(See attached screenshot.)
You might try actually READING THROUGH TO THE END the evidence you provide…

Guilty as charged I didn’t read through to the end.
How is Sean Spicer an authority on what the current administration will or will not be doing? I haven’t heard his name mentioned since he competed several years ago on that reality tv show ‘Can you dance better than a third grader?’ (or whatever the heck it was called.)
Sean Spicer wasn’t what made the article interesting, the cannabis lobbying group mentioned in it was. I don’t think legalization is coming. Instead, I believe they’re going to create an incredibly complex and tightly regulated medical market that will keep 99% of farmers out of the industry.
Just look at what happened with USDA grants this year: funding was pulled from small farmers and redirected to large producers as a bailout in response to rising costs from tariffs and trade disruptions. Billions of dollars in losses and thousands of family farms bankrupt over night. Most had reimbursement grants so they spent their own money only for the FEDs to break their promises. USDA is already pulling Hemp licenses in states where it’s legal Small-scale agriculture is struggling right now, and cannabis is no exception but I have a feeling unless we get direct shipping in state now we are going to see an extinction
How quaint. You think the Constitution still has any meaning in 2025.
not true
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_Against_Marijuana_Planting
Look up Operation Green Sweep and the lawsuit that was filed if you want info. What are you thinking wasn’t true? maybe I can clarify
Where will east coast carjackers get their medicine with these mom and pop pharmacies being raided?
I never hear, hey we just busted a meth and fentanyl lab. 🙄That would be way more helpful in Humboldt county. Instead they just cannabis farms. It’s not really about public safety it’s about control and money.
They bust those drugs the time have you not followed the subject?
its all imported mostly by our friends across the globe
Have to ask the what if any GIA is any relgion? What is the majority these days running County of Humboldt DTF? Do they have pretexts of having to have PETA stickers, and take oaths save the fishes and doggies? Aka cute kittens? And, do they have prayer circles and ceremonies of river cleansing prior Supervisor meetings? Do they have secret handshakes, and common to have wear or have relatives wear tie dies, if wanting politic get ahead such as sheriffs or CHP workplace? And, do they need it more for saving their worship of mother GIA? THE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE????? Do they have quanative measurements? Or is it any “just wants list?????” Language choice of “eradication” and ‘saving gia???” And, sales of any so ahh the what any goes in those reports the end of the day, as the part of budget presenations? Like one page of sun and rainbows, and do they give the Sups art of depications lighting bolts of Zesus make them strong? And, ends like showing really needed for saving GIA … Like bigger trucks… ?
Do they need it more, aka gotta ask is that weed confiscate, and shows back up in Oakland Weed shops? And, ahh police stings and revune generation???? Aka the what occurs the weed, is it destory? Does the Gia lovers “need it more????” Aka need it more pay for their off the books… ? OR is every leaf aka stem accounted for???? Do they have peace pipe smoking cermones, burry the hackets aka axes, as any flavors of the how do they come up with “saving mother earth???” Having ask the most conservative counties in the State??? Or, do they confiscate, and then have prove, ownership??? and the how does any flavors of threads and discource appear to change. Interesting politic if persons follow the Comments on any blog.
So ANY TRUE PROGRAM, aka “wanting regulate cash” IS any anti-american as it gets. Aka if any Bill of Rights is any INTENT TO LIMIT goverance influence on persons lives???? Just asking???? Aka big brother as the part of… saving GIA???? Aka really, really, really, really sounds like police union politics of any emperor not wearing any clothes, and the what was any audience, aka the where is the commentary??? Asking any really hard questions?
Aka just asking was “EPIC” Eel River Proection” or something like that or also any EPIC, was any first amendment free speech non-profit… . Aka the what are the odds of confusion, the obviious would ask if was by design. Aka regulating cash, aka wanting relguate, aka pretext farces of any the who can sell the what??? and making buying and selling a crime, that would be inferences.
Illegal Pot, Illegal Chemicals… Maybe an Illegal Alien or two…
Wasting our time and a shit ton of money…
Again gotta ask much like wanting to rob peter to pay for bigger government trucks, and deny tomorrow intent on robbing Paul. The what would ask call critical thinking skills. The what if any programs, specifically was any CONTROL. and Control the State wanting see the how far they could push it. Using such as classic grifting if any persons have ever experience any having a baby, and horrible relationship dynamics. OF any classic lines of “ITS FOR THE BABY?” And, obvious everyone knows the baby sitting any pool side Vegas really reaks of hogwash sales?? Just asking?
“Just because someone is a foreign national doesn’t mean they’re here illegally; perhaps that’s why they weren’t apprehended. SUCH as comments???? Call wanting play persons. Do they continue have A Federal Court Eureka Arcata Annex. ANd, if any programs, ahh
wanting play persons Federal courts ends in very, very, very unhappy endings.
Send in the abrams tanks we gotta save those salamanders
The article says all 20 sites had over 200 plants with the smallest having 206 plants, but also says only 1400 plants were destroyed. If all 20 sites have at least 200 plants, wouldn’t that be 4000 plants to destroy???
I noticed that also — the 1,400 might have been the total for one of the three days — otherwise they were devoting a lot of resources to busting very small potatoes.
They kept some as “evidence.”
Good luck finding them.
The public is so ignorant of math that we might as well discard the 10 digits in any news story altogether. Any time a specific number is mentioned just replace it with ## so that your comment would read… “The article says all ## sites had over ## plants with the smallest having ## plants…”
To ensure you never had a voice in the water war politics they gave ur hustle to literal slavers. Good job folks, never been better, I hope everyone enjoys the finale. There is no side-mounted weaponry on this HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter from the California National Guard. They’re not making a gun run on a pot farm.
Really.
It would be illegal…
The funny thing is I remember CAMPs helicopters having guns. I saw them when they use National Guard or Military Choppers they don’t take those things off even if they are “not going to use them”
Trump considers reclassifying marijuana as less dangerous drug: report | Fox Business

Trinity Pines is a nightmare place. How such subdivision was ever allowed is beyond me. Similar to the destructive developments in Humboldt. A misfit attractor.
