Kim, do you have to allow this sort of sick presumptive commentary to continue? Racist and sexist all rolled into one hateful spew.

Do you really need Kym to protect you from getting your feelings hurt? She can do whatever she wants with her site and it would be reasonable to moderate those comments, but whining for censorship is almost equally unsavory.

My feelings aren’t at issue. Someone did get killed and you used it as an opportunity to assume and accuse. SOS for you.

Strange to think this county used to have predominantly modest blue collar values.
this article highlights a particular circumstance that is disproportionately stereotypical, encapsulating the ratchet and degenerate ghetto culture that has been sold to ailing modern Americans.
we need a complete cultural overhaul.

Ok….then you go find those two that are gallivanting the countryside, fresh from a murder and inform them that you don’t appreciate the stereotype they’re playing into and you’d appreciate it if they’d just knock that of.. Kthxbye. and Mr. C, you’re not helping either.

Grandma’s world and skills are what brought us to where we are. Romanticize the “greatest generation”, the “boomers” and their lackadaisical attitudes towards sustainability (economic, environmental, and social) and basic lack of foresight. Make cute the giant blind spot they possess when it comes to acceptance of responsibility for where we stand. Or, the where the rest of us are standing in anyhow.

Oh this is rich..you wouldn’t even be here without the Grandmothers in your life. Stop whining and complaining and blaming, cultivate the strength and fortitude your ancestors brought to their lives. I’m sorry that life is SO HARD that you have to blame your Grandma.

Every single generation makes major mistakes that the next inherits.
Yes the narcissism and greed of the last nearly 50 years has trended upwards hitting a peak eruption and spewing hot lava over everyone. “Everyone” getting their “15 min of fame” as someone once predicted before the internet, more than 50 years ago did not include the entitlement and disregard for civic duty etc etc. that would come with that “Fame”.
Generation before created the nuclear bomb and dropped a couple and had open and defended, systemic racism sexism etc. – of course their children gonna be messed up too.
Your generation’s short sightedness is being bitter young and feeling entitled to not have to work hard for a good life and calling people (vs their behavior) toxic and dropping relationships on a dime, cancel culture pertains also to your personal and professional relationships; a variation of narcissism you inherited and then hacked.
Self awareness and commitment to community/ : the first generation to get on board with those might make some significant progress and do less damage

Have you ever considered that aspect of history, how every generations ‘progressives’ strive to upset the status quo and present a diametrically opposed way of thinking and if they win then the new view is somehow people always should have been like they are in the NOW, this tyrant of the now is flawed in the sense that we can chart tbat much of what makes life good is less present in the now, somehow they are both backward thinking and always wrong but also they had the best life and squandered it. There is some mystery here i dont claim to intuit the whole thing but it does cause me to doubt progress and wonder what did we really leave far far in the past, sure we see the things they thought that we strongly disagree with but what about the whole basket of things we see value in why did they also go the wayside?

No doubt a statewide bolo should be issued, surely the suspects are on their way back to Oakland or LA as we speak. I pray to God that their caught and are convicted and prosecuted to the fullest extent of law. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened. Took his weed, abducted him, walked him out to the woods and shot and kill him. There is absolutely no honor amongst thieves. I hope they catch these POS and throw away the key. My heart and deepest sympathies, and condolences go out to his family.

I agree. They probably tortured the poor guy the entire way from Oakland. Thought they could get away with it “up in the sticks”. Well we don’t play up here so look out blady and pink sweater.

Dope related crime violent crime can be on the increase, while overall violent crime can be on the decrease. They are not mutually exclusive.

But, why the hell would anyone defend either?

Well violent crime is a term whose definition is political and changes. Especially in California. On the other hand, the definition of homicide stays the same.

Looking at that, you are not right. There was a spirt of homicides in the 1970 through 1990 (baby boomers adolescence) but even the homicides in 2019 show a rise over rates of 1950.

“U.S. murder/homicide rate per 100K population for 2021 was 6.81, a 6.02% increase from 2020.
U.S. murder/homicide rate per 100K population for 2020 was 6.42, a 28.78% increase from 2019.
U.S. murder/homicide rate per 100K population for 2019 was 4.99, a 1.14% increase from 2018.”
