Our brave men and woman from CAL FIRE doing their level best to keep this fire from spreading. It is hot (104 degrees) and very steep country which makes their job even harder. With only 24% containment they do have their work cut out. Fighting the fire and trying to protect any structures in the area. If you live in one the of the evacuation warning areas, please be ready to go. Please don’t risk your life for material things and don’t leave any pet(s) behind. I hope the weather will cooperate and they can get this fire out. I pray that no firefighters or other persons are injured or killed.
Most of that area had been burned in a fire… a few years ago.
Lots of toasty dry grass is (or was) growing between the remaining brush and trees.
You can see it igniting in the time lapse of the fire growth (previous Red Headed article).
Fire might liquidate the ‘remaining’ timber left on the ridge.
I hope that doesn’t happen.
