Eureka will welcome the Europa 2 from Hapag Lloyd Cruises with 460 passengers and 370 crew to Humboldt Bay on Sunday, April 27th, docking at 7:00 AM. The ship will enter Humboldt Bay at 5:30 AM and will be met with a private welcome party at Schneider dock. The ship is expected to depart at 7:30 PM.
Ship guests will have the option to experience Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Old Town Eureka, Blue Ox Millworks, Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate Factory, an oyster tour and tasting at Humboldt Bay Provisions, and kayaking in Trinidad Harbor with Kayak Trinidad.
The cruise visit and welcome party are a collaborative effort planned by the Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District, the City of Eureka, Eureka Main Street, Humboldt County Office of Economic Development, Visit Humboldt, Humboldt Bar Pilots Association, and Zerlang and Zerlang Marine Services. Special thanks to Chet Albin, Dave Schneider, and Schneider Dock.
The Europa 2 is a German ship on a West Coast tour; it departed from Los Angeles on April 13th and travelled north to Vancouver with stops in San Francisco and Astoria before heading south and stopping in Seattle on its way to Eureka.
The ship will also dock in Santa Barbara and San Diego before returning to Los Angeles on May 1st.
The ship is expected to be visible around 5:30 AM on Sunday; local citizens can watch the arrival from the Del Norte Street pier, the Park and Ride at Herrick Avenue and the Samoa boat ramp at the north jetty.

I hope there is a garden hose near the dock. Because more then a few passengers are going to track dog feces on to the ship.
Um, I hate to tell you but that’s not dog…
?
The article states that the ship carries 460 passengers, with a complement of 370 crew. A simple calculation shows that four crew members attend to the needs of five passengers, in whatever capacity. I hope they’re getting their money’s worth.
Sounds like there are plenty of options lined up for the passengers. I hope they have lots of fun and spend lots of money.

Dick Taylor’s? Try humboldt coffee or ramons the supervisors don’t seem to agree with humboldts support local theory. I’m tired of their ideas. I’m tired of them inviting everybody here just like the green rush I guess we call this the blue rush. I’m also tired of only senior citizens being represented by humboldt government. What ever if they want tourist running around in shorts and knee high socks picking poisen oak I guess Orrick and eureka bay are a great place for them. Let’s see if the tweakers in Orrick and Cresent city don’t get in on the fun. If you think so hum is bad then don’t go near those meth producing towns.
Uh….who you posting to? I posted a link to the whereabouts for the navigation and map nerds out there. I didn’t say a thing about who else was going to show up.

They paid for it, so…. But that’s everyone not a paying customer, from the ship operations crew, the entertainers, store persons, concierge, restaurant and bar staff, cleaning staff, serving staff, security, IT and various technicians of all sorts…. They are quite literally a floating city, and this is a rather small one when it comes to these types of ships. The bigger ones hold in excess of 3000 passengers or even 4000, not including nearly as many crew.
Welcome to Humboldt County! When you return, tell your leaders you need to pay more of your GDP towards your security under the NATO agreement.
Funny thing, Germany and the rest of Europe are indeed ratcheting up their defense spending. Spending the money on European armaments instead of US ones. Which isn’t what the US MIC meant. “Not like that!”.

Europeans could ignore spending money on armaments when they knew America would take up the slack, but those days are over. Trump is demanding they all pay their fair share to support NATO.
Cool! President Donald J Trump is working to break the Military Industrial Complex as well as making our NATO “allies” pay their fair share of their own defense. That’s ANOTHER win! The man is a dynamo!
Make sure your recruitment numbers are up when shit hits the fan and your allies tell you to go pound sand because you maligned your relationships with them.
