I am wondering if the truck was a semi or a logging truck. Sounds like the driver ate his Lucky Charms for breakfast. He could have been easily killed. I am very happy he is ok.

These guys do NOT drive slow in these trucks! There needs to be a CHP out there. What happens if one wipes out someone’s family just so they can get to the mill a little earlier or get an extra load in for the day. It’s stupid and not worth someone’s life

You are very correct. Some of the truckers push their rigs to the limit of going out of control from speed. It will be just a matter of time before a vehicle driver or a driver with his family will be killed because of these speeders. It is unfortunate that we don’t have more CHP officers to patrol 36 and catch these jackasses. There are just not enough officers to patrol all our highways. I see more HCSO vehicles on 36 than the CHP. They also can ticket the truckers.

Been working in Carlotta this past week, these assholes are flying down 36, there are many many of these bottom dumps in convoys flying on 36 these and full logging trucks. They give no fucks and have a smile on their face as they seem to be racing one another to get to point B. Park on Johnson lane at Martin and Shirley’s and watch the race first hand

Personally I like the semi’s. Keeps drivers in their lane. And they drive faster then the trimmers who don’t know to use a pullout. Most the semi’s I have seen are doing 5 under I would think, it just seems fast on that road. If you grew up logging days your somewhat used to them.

That new pavement makes the tires squeal quite a bit. I was hearing it going to town way more then normal, and I was driving 5 under the speed limit
