I don’t wear them all the time. Go ahead and scold me I have my reasons. But sometimes I do wear them- rainy weather, slick roads and dangerous spots like Ridgewood Grade. That’s a dicey road right there going down into Redwood Valley…

Do what you want, as long as you’re the only one in the vehicle. And make sure you checked that organ donor box.

The CHP report indicates sex of the driver was male.

A rollover at 25 miles an hour can be fatal with no seat belt.

If that young 36-year-old man had been wearing his seatbelt, he may be still alive. My condolences to his family and friends. May he RIP.

That road is dicey at anything over 60, any weather.

Where on the CHP Report did you get the 90:1, or is that your guess?

Where does it say no seatbelts were worn? People die even though they wear seatbelts.

The CHP report has a box to mark if safety equipment was used. Safety equipment is seatbelts. The box is marked no.

Under “Safety Equipment Used” – the ‘no’ box is checked. A CHP once told me he’d never unbuckled a dead person. A seatbelt can save your life.

Dumb question; Chevrolet what? Sedan, obese SUV, bloated pickup…?
EDIT: Dang, I spend too much time here. My condolences to the driver’s family and friends.

upon arrival on accident scene single vehicle roll-over rear passenger partial ejection from back window as vehicles came to rest on juvenile 14 yrs. old female’s head. Subject still alive and expired while given first aid by first responder. A federal LEO arriving on scene within a minute of accident. Observed two males running from accident scene into creek. and there was victim’s sister and male subject still at scene. Sadly, I knew the victims family and immediately contacted them. I had identified two male subjects fleeing the scene one was driver. During investigation driver was arrested and sentenced to prison for six years. This was 1987 when I was a USDI Conservation Officer.
