Oven Fire Quickly Extinguished by Humboldt Bay Fire

Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a report of a structure fire on the 1200 block of B Street in Eureka.

Scanner traffic indicated smoke and flames could be seen from a two-story, wood structure. The dispatcher also advised crews that it was unclear if any occupants remained inside the building.

Our reporter, Mark McKenna is on scene and reports that B Street is closed near the 1200 block though fire personnel are currently working on clearing the roadway. Please use caution in the area.

McKenna reports that the fire is reported to have originated from an oven.
