About 4:46 p.m., a wood chipper pulled by a truck crashed just south of the Redway exit on Hwy 101.

According to our reporter, Lisa Music, the northbound fast lane is closed. The southbound fast lane is also blocked but there are two other lanes at that point.

A tow truck is on “expedite” in order to get the road cleared.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 5:25 p.m.: Lisa Music is live from the scene.

Wood you believe that I don’t find this story very chipper or should I branch off to another article and leaf the reporting to the pros? I’m sort of stumped.

I thought a CHP vehicle crashed, as I often hear them referred to as ‘CHPpers’

It happens.

The CHP warns us not to drag safety chains, but this is ridiculous. It was very lucky that the truck was not flipped also.

The damaged chipper looks like it will live and be chipper once again.

Sort of looks like the chipper pulled the bumper of the Chevrolet truck hard to tell. I would be willing to bet that the driver is not feeling to “chipper” right now. Thankfully no one was injured or following too close. Who is going to pay for that expensive Vermeer chipper.
