Major Roadwork Scheduled Friday, May 24 through Thursday, May 30

Press release from Caltrans:Road Work Ahead Public Works Blur

The following scheduled roadwork has been verified at the time of release. Please keep in mind work is weather permitting and subject to change. For information pertaining to emergency roadwork, check QuickMap and the CHIN.

Caltrans will suspend most work on Northern California highways from Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day weekend. However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for Caltrans crews to respond to emergency situations.

Del Norte County

  • U.S. 101 (8.3/8.6) – Bridge work near Hunter Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101KB
  • U.S. 101 (35.8/36.5) – Construction at the Dr. Fine Bridge near Smith River will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C101WA
  • U.S. 199 (19.9/31.1) – Emergency work from the Gasquet area to the Collier Tunnel Rest Area will continue. One-way traffic is scheduled weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 30-minute delays. LC#C199HA

Humboldt County

  • Route 36 (11/11.5) – Bridge work from Pamplin Grove to Redwood House Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA
  • Route 36 (25.3/25.4) – Bridge work at Little Larabee Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA
  • Route 36 (25.4/25.9) – Tree work near the Caltrans Bridgeville Maintenance Station will occur on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. LC#P36BA
  • Route 36 (32.3/32.7) – Tree work near Larabee Buttes Access Road will occur on Tuesday, May 28. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns. LC#P36BA
  • Route 36 (37.2/37.4) – Emergency work near Burr Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C36DA
  • Route 96 (27/27.6) – Construction work near Bluff Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C96LA
  • Route 96 (29.9) – Bridge work at Slate Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays. LC#C96KA
  • U.S. 101 (66) – Emergency work at the Loleta Drive Overcrossing will occur on Wednesday, May 29. A full closure of the northbound onramp and southbound offramp will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use an alternative route. LC#C101EC
  • U.S. 101 (88.3) – Work at the 299 interchange in Arcata will continue. The northbound onramp to Route 299 will be fully closed. Motorists should use an alternative route. LC#C101KD
  • Route 254 (3.2/4.3) – Bridge construction near Fish Creek Road will continue. A full closure will be in effect. Motorists should use an alternate route. LC#C254CA
  • Route 254 (4.3/4.8) – Road work north of Fish Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C254DA
  • Route 255 (4.7/6) – The Kinetic Grand Championship will occur on Saturday, May 25, west of Arcata between Young Lane and Jackson Ranch Road. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#P255CA
  • Route 299 (0.5/5.8) – Construction work west of Blue Lake will continue. Eastbound lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Travelers should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C299HA
  • Route 299 (5.3/5.5) – Electrical work near Blue Lake will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Travelers should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C299HA
  • Route 299 (5.4/5.7) – Utility work near Blue Lake will begin on Wednesday, May 29. The eastbound offramp for Exit 4 to Glendale Drive and the eastbound onramp from Glendale Undercrossing will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Travelers should use an alternate route. LC#P299BA
  • Route 299 (5.4/5.7) – Electrical work near Blue Lake will continue. The westbound offramp for Exit 5 to Blue Lake and the westbound onramp from Glendale Avenue will continue to be closed weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Travelers should use an alternate route. LC#C299HA
  • Route 299 (11/11.4) – Construction east of Blue Lake near North Fork Mad River Bridge 4-194 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C299FA
  • Route 299 (17.2/19.1) – Permit work from Lord-Ellis Summit to Bair Road will begin on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#P299BA
  • Route 299 (31/33) – Permit work near Cedar Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#P299BA
  • Route 299 (32.1/32.5) – Construction work west of East Fork Campground will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C299LA

Lake County

  • Route 20 (1.1/2.4) – Construction work from Blue Lakes Road to Irvine Avenue will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#P20KA
  • Route 20 (24.4/26.7) – Tree work will occur in Glenhaven near Glenhaven Drive on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P20BA
  • Route 29 (0/5.8) – Utility work in Middletown from Route 175 to the Napa County Line continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C29LA
  • Route 175 (12.5/14.5) – Tree work in Nice near Pollard Way will occur on Friday, May 31. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P`75DA

Mendocino County

  • Route 1 (3.2/4.4) – Paving work near Anchor Bay from Pirates Drive to Ocean View Avenue will begin on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1YA
  • Route 1 (10.5/11.4) – Paving work in Gallaway from Schooner Gulch Road to Ocean View Point will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1YA
  • Route 1 (18/18.7) – Paving work from the Garcia River Overflow Bridge 10-114 to Stornetta Drive continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1YA
  • Route 1 (41.6/42.5) – Road work from south of Navarro Point Preserve to north of Navarro Ridge Road will begin on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1CA
  • Route 1 (50.8/52.2) – Road work north of Mendocino at Jack Peters Creek Bridge 01-43484 from Little Lakes Road to Surfwood Estates Road continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1VA
  • Route 1 (63.3/65.1) – Tree work north of Fort Bragg from south of Jane Lane to north of Parkview Drive will occur on Thursday, May 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1FA
  • Route 1 (67.4/71.2) – Tree work north of Cleone from the Fort Bragg Grange #672 to Abalobadiah Creek will occur on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1FA
  • Route 1 (71.8/73.6) – Tree work near Newport from the Roadside Overlook to Pacific Star Winery will occur on Tuesday, May 28. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1FA
  • Route 1 (75.4/76.1) – Emergency work south of Westport from the Blues Beach Trailhead to the Overlook will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 30-minute delays. LC#C1TA
  • Route 1 (76.1/77.1) – Tree work in Westport at Hillcrest Terrace will occur on Tuesday, May 28. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P1FA
  • Route 1 (82.2/82.9) – Road work south of Hardy from the Portal Rock Vista Point to the Devonte Vista Point continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1BB
  • Route 1 (87.8/103.2) – Paving work in Rockport north of Rockport Street to Redwood Forest Foundation Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1QA
  • Route 20 (33.1/33.5) – Utility work in Willits at Holly Street will begin on Tuesday May 28. Lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#P20AA
  • Route 20 (33.9/44.1) – Utility work east of Calpella from Road 144 to the Lake County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C20OA
  • Route 20 (34.1/35.6) – Paving work in Willits from Alder Lane to west of the Haehl Overhead Bridge 10-125 will begin on Tuesday, May 28. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C20MA
  • Route 20 (36.9/37.9) – Guardrail work east of Calpella from Elledge Ranch Road to the Cold Creek Bridge 10-40 will occur on Wednesday, May 29. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays.LC#S20HA
  • U.S. 101 (1.6/2) – Road work north of Geysers Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C101AC
  • U.S. 101 (5.9) – Bridge work at the Pieta Creek Bridge 10-133 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101WD
  • U.S. 101 (4.3/4.5) – Culvert work north of Comminsky Station Road will begin on Friday, May 24. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C101EE
  • U.S. 101 (22.1) – Bridge work at the South Ukiah Overhead Bridge 10-187 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C101WD
  • U.S. 101 (25) – Survey work at the Orrs Creek Bridge 10-194 will begin on Tuesday, May 28. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#P101GA
  • U.S. 101 (31.8) – Bridge work at the Forsythe Creek Bridge 10-269 will occur on Tuesday, May 28. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C101WD
  • U.S. 101 (33.7/43.2) – Road work south of Willits from Route 20 to Uva Drive in Redwood Valley will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M101QD
  • U.S. 101 (70.5/70.9) – Electrical work will occur in Laytonville from the Cal Fire Laytonville Fire Station to Road 307 on Thursday, May 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P101FA
  • U.S. 101 (85.5/88.6) – Emergency work south of Leggett near Wilson Creek continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect minor delays. LC#C101MC
  • Route 162 (7.9/8.4) – Bridge work at the Eel River Bridge 10-236 will begin on Friday, May 31. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162HA
  • Route 162 (11/12.6) – Road work south of Dos Rios near the Rodeo Creek Bridge 10-237 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162IA
  • Route 175 (.5/9.8) – Road work from the Russian River Bridge 10-45 to the Lake County Line will begin on Friday, May 24. One-way traffic will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C175AA
  • Route 253 (1.7/2.3) – Road work near Boonville at Bald Hills Ranch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C253DA

Since everybody’s noticing the typo, i might add that doing “the work” does sometimes includes being able to say, to all who might try to overstep your boundaries or who give you trouble, FOAD.
