Easy fix for that. Return every dime that current workers have paid into social security to each individual worker and let them invest it. Government can figure out how to fund the people already on Social Security and let it sunset as the boomers die off. Eliminate the program and let workers fund their own retirement.

The reason houses are so expensive is because of all the hidden fees associated with the building permit and the ridiculous additions the state requires. The mortgage broker got their hand out, the title company got their hand out, the fire department got their hand out, the school district got their hand out, two real estate agents got their hands out, the city got their hand out, the county got their handout, the water company got their handout, the sewer district got their hand out, the cable company got their hand out, PG&E got their hand out, the phone company got their handout… how many hands you gotta put YOUR money into, just to build a house? And all them leeches get their money before you can even start digging a foundation!
Do you have any idea how easy it is to build a house with a few friends and there is no reason to pay many of those fuckers a damned cent. YOU pay to run the water and sewer line to the lines that already exist and have been there 50 years or more that we’ve already paid for!
