With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our family matriarch, Shirley Elaine Anderson Butler who left us on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Shirley was a lifetime resident of Arcata, born May 13, 1922, to Axel and Elaine (Moxon) Anderson. She married Harold Butler in 1945. Shirley and Harold raised two children, Karen Sacchi of Arcata, and Alan Butler of Crescent City.
A visitation will be held this Saturday, March 2nd, at Paul’s Chapel, 1070 H St., Arcata, CA, between the hours of 1:00 and 2:30 pm. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.

Shirley was a delightful person. And connected to the historic Moxon and Butler lines. You’ve gone to greener pastures, lovely lady. Til we met again. i
