[UPDATE 4:50 p.m.: Video of the Missing Woman Today on Surveillance Tape] Urgent Community Alert: Search Underway for Missing Senior Woman in Redway Area
Friends and family are asking for assistance in locating Pam Van Hoek, a senior woman reported missing earlier today. According to friends and family, Ms. Van Hoek, who suffers from diabetes and dementia, is believed to be in the Redway area on foot between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM without her essential medications.
The search for Ms. Van Hoek is particularly urgent given her medical condition, which requires regular medication. Her dementia could make it difficult for her ask for help or return home on her own safely.
Pam Van Hoek is wearing the raincoat above. In addition, she is believed to be carrying a blue purse decorated with a painted panda.
Local residents are being asked to keep an eye out for Ms. Van Hoek. Her condition may cause confusion or disorientation, so please approach her with care and compassion.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department at (707) 923-2761 as her son is in the process of reporting her missing there.
UPDATE 11:36 a.m.: Friends are now circulating this missing person’s poster. It can be downloaded and printed for posting in windows and bulletin boards.

They’ve probably been taken off the search for the missing mom ?, so yes.
Looks like many Redway fire trucks are out and I heard they were calling in other departments
Does anyone know what part of Redway she was last seen in?
Ie by Reds Rural, by grocery store, by school, lower Redway by river, north of town, etc?
Just to know wheres most important to keep an eye out/take a look around area.

There is a gated trail , fenced on both sides, corridor about six or eight feet wide that goes from Oakridge Drive to Huber’s Hole, that we used to use when we were kids… Across the street from Mark and Jennifer’s place, approximately…
Might be worth a check…
Yes was thinking of that spot as well as up towards the ymca camp from the grove parking area on.up, that road is well usually well maintained, itd be worth someone who has legal access to drive it&check.

Actually the last place she was reportedly seen was the liquor store at 9:30am but there’s no video or pictures of it, just a eye witness report from the cashier. I also personally reviewed the surveillance footage at coast to coast between 8:30 AM and 1 o’clock PM and did not see her, You can clearly see Main Street on that camera.
No one told me that she was seen at the liquor store. Don’t they have video there?
Apparently not. We spent over 5 hours looking around redway Beach and lower redway and weren’t told about The reported sighting at redway liquor store untiltill about 5 pm. Again it was just an eyewitness report, And those are not as accurate as people would think sometimes. I only mentioned it because it’s the only other lead they’ve gotten so far. :<(
When I clicked on the video of where she was last seen nothing came up, so I’m not sure how that can be fixed good maybe you know Kim

Just knowing which direction she was moving, and approximately where on Oakridge, when she was last seen, would be helpful. I wouldn’t know where the 300 block would be, but if I saw the video, I might recognize it…
Those were my stomping grounds…
I know/knew the area well…
But it’s been many years ago…

Can you tell which direction she was walking…???
I googled 300 Oakridge Drive, Redway CA and looked at street view.
It was less blurry.
This is very close to where the gate is on Oakridge to that trail corridor between properties that accesses the river between Upper and Lower Huber’s Hole.
If she was walking away in your blurry screenshot, she would have been walking towards the gate, which would be just ahead, on the right…
I think it is between this area and just a property or two further south towards Briceland Road…
I couldn’t find it on street view…
It might be pretty overgrown, but I’m almost sure it would still be there, and I’m almost sure that it is a quasi public right of way to go fishing there…
Maybe she went towards the Iver from there…???
Especially possible if she has lived in the area for a long time, increasing the likelihood of knowing about that hidden corridor…

I’m almost certain its near the fire hydrant, because it seems that I remember that we had to be careful not to hit it when we parked there to go fishing.

Pamela has been found deceased by the Search and Rescue teams and others looking so hard for her. She was located in or near the Eel River. May she RIP.
