Search Today in Myers Flat to Find Missing New Mother Zoe Penrod

Information from Misty Carrico: Zoe penrod HCSO

Local resident and New mother Zoe Penrod is still missing after walking away from her Myers Flat home on or around Jan 1st. With few leads there has been no progress. The winter weather making searching difficult. I’m asking my community for help. I would like to search the area of boyscout camp rd, the river bar in that area, and possibly the surrounding groves. I’m holding a meeting at 11am Sunday at the myers flat market to gather info and hand out a few maps to volunteers before we start. Please join me. I have multiple drone operators coming as well. If you plan to join us please come prepared, good shoes, rain gear, water, whistle, cell phone etc is highly recommended.
Thank you for your time.

I am extremely concerned about this woman’s safety and health.

I sincerely hope for a good outcome here, and it is my feeling that we are not really hearing the whole story…

Protect and conserve women and new moms in general, and I hope everyone finds what they are looking for…

ya think, we aren’t hearing ANY of the story, no one walks away from their home in winter, with no explanation, someone knows more than they are telling.

We have had more information. Just because you didn’t see it.
This woman has a newborn, suffers depression & is off her meds. Is that enough for you?

It sounds like she’s suffering from post partum psychosis, which can send you out into the winter wearing only a dress. Look it up, it’s terrifying.

There were Sheriff and Totten search and rescue at the meeting this morning. It appeared Sheriffs were there just to instruct people on staying off private property and not to actually participate.

Yeah the sheriff’s are absolutely worthless when it comes to search and rescue but they like to jump in at the end and take credit.

Sheriff’s office has already searched local areas for her with negative results.

Law enforcement’s track record for successfully locating victims, or crucial evidence the first go ’round is crap! Besides the blundering blunderheads mucking up or failing nearly every investigation, misogyny runs so thick that victimized women, or the needs of a woman in crisis are never be fully or fairly considered.

Hey everyone I just learned that there were 4-5 deputies out on foot searching with the community.

No there weren’t. They showed up to brief people about private property rights and they came back when a local made an off the hand comment about Zoe being safe, possibly inside his residence. So the hcso came and talked to him. To my knowledge they didn’t even go inside his residence. They did not take part in the search effort yesterday. In fact one asked me why I brought them all back out at all…..

When my friends son went under in the Trinity, the sheriff took days to assist. DAYS. Months went by, and they were even allowed to open the dam even though he still hadn’t been found. When he was found six months later by passersby, he had been washed into the Klamath, only a mile from the ocean. I don’t know wth is wrong with first responders there, but it’s a PROBLEM. They just don’t effing respond.

I bet the Husband did something to her. She’s not just gonna up and totally leave her kids even with post partum depression. Hopefully he’ll tell the truth

She had Postpartum Psychosis, not depression. This can lead to Psychotic behavior, get it?

Yea total BS and speculation. Post partum depression can really send someone off the deep end epically if they have an underlying mental health condition. Sometimes it is mild and goes undiagnosed for years until a triggering event like this occurs.

Highly inappropriate.
The article doesn’t even mention postpartum depression.

That’s the truly awful part about this site. People can think bad crap, and even say it to their friends or post it on their own social media, but they don’t need to post it here, on such a public platform and Kym is gross for allowing it. She’s really created a platform to bash those that can’t stand up for themselves, and hurt those that are already hurting.

She’s dead ma’am. The sooner you accept it the better it is. This has happened many many times and it never turns out good. Remember the mentally ill lady from mckinleyville that drowned her kid in the river in willow creek? If she’s really in some kind of psychosis which I highly doubt is the cause of her disappearance, then she would turn up somewhere. I watched a Cold Case show yesterday where a guy killed his wife and buried her on his property and for over 40 years his family and him lived on that property walking over her grave and didn’t even know it. Finally after 40 years the cops got him to confess. It’ll come out in the end. I’ll try not to say I told ya so when it does

I can’t believe it took the action of a random citizen of the county to get this search organized and under way, what the f*** do we pay our Sheriff’s for?

There is a trail from the Children’s Grove, across the river, that goes downstream to Bull Creek and then upstream all the way to Albee Creek Campground. Hope she is somewhere safe and warm.

Let’s hope she didn’t wander into the river as it’s very close and very high.

It was nice to see so many local fire depts come out today to help and be right there for any possible medical aid Zoe may have needed if found alive and to help keep citizens safe Myersflat, Briceland, salmon creek, Garberville and Miranda fire. Probably others too and So hum tech rescue also training all day at the river and observing for anything significant down there. Nice community teamwork. A lot of area covered. Hopefully Sheriffs keep digging!

Supposedly she walked off but anything could have happened to her she could have even been abducted and considering that she was a very venerable woman the mother of a small baby and not exactly a 50 to 60 year old experienced woodsman or woodswoman in a terrain that is pretty much just as steep and rugged as being at a higher mountain elevation but with a very dangerous river bar close by I think the search crews should also definitely have law enforcement search crews with a black hawk helicopter come to help search for the woman also this should be a FBI missing persons case as well as a grass roots search party every square foot needs to be searched from top to bottom.
