James Richard Fox, Sr
James Richard Fox, Sr., age 77 of Fortuna, California passed away on June 17, 2023 surrounded by his children.
James was born to Wilhelmina Miller and Richard Fox on May 28 1946 in Los Angeles California.
His pastime interests were making candles, camping every summer with the family, and golfing with his one and only son James Richard Fox JR.
He always enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter for Carlotta for many years.
James graduated from Eureka High School in 1964 and then went on to enlist in the army where he served 5 years and was Honorably discharged on the 26th day of July 1972. James was married to our Beautiful Mother Judy Collette Fox and went on to have three Daughters and one Son Janet Carey Stephanie and James.
James worked at in the local Timber industry for years to support his family begining at Carlotta Lumber then moving to Eel River sawmills and finishing his career at Blue Lake Forest. He worked mostly as a grader throughout the years.
He enjoyed the many friendships he made over the years many which lasted a lifetime.
James Richard Fox Sr is survived by all his children Janet, Carey, Stephanie, and James also his sister Judy and brother David. James has many Nieces Nephews Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren as well.
James Richard Fox SR was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife, Judy Collette Fox.
You are now one of our Angels with our Mom where you so wanted to be from the day she left us all. We love you always and forever Dad.
James Family will host a Funeral service on June 28th 2023 at 1:30 pm. The service will be at Sunset Cemetery Fortuna California Flowers can be sent to Gobles Mortuary Fortuna California

Jim was a great guy. Enjoyed working with him and getting him into golf many years ago. Really got along with Jim. Best days at the mill was when he was the timber grader and I drove the 910 timber loader. Gonna miss him.
I remember Jim from Carlotta Lumber. He graded on the planer chain. Good man.
