Clip of Recent Eureka City Council Meeting Goes Viral–Gets Over a Million Views
A clip of the June 6 Eureka City Council meeting featuring a comment by a local resident with an introduction by a TikTokker known as Jake went viral this weekend–it received over a million views in two days.
The Tikkokker proclaims that he “never expected to find my hero at a City Council meeting in Eureka, California but here you go.”

In the video, Steve Parr, a Eureka resident, who comments frequently at Council meetings (and, last year, failed to receive enough signatures to run for mayor) proclaims at the council meeting that he’s seen all the attention paid “to the QWERTY crowd” (an apparent reference to LGBTQ people). He states, “I notice we had a special day last month..and then we got the whole month this month and then another day in October…They have flags and parades and an army and I just wanted to be a part of that.”
Parr, then goes on to “come out of the closet” as a man who wants to perform a particular obscene act with his wife. He then provides his own “pronouns” which he wants used by those who talk about him. And Parr as he stood at the podium, eventually, unfurled a homemade flag with a hole in the center of a virulently tie-dyed pink flower shape on rectangular dark fabric.

Parr states that it took a lot of bravery for him to “announce this in public” and hopes that he will get “accolades” and benefits for his actions.
Previously, on his Facebook page, he announced his intention to “come out” at the meeting, saying,
I will announce that my wife is not on board with this but the QWERTY crowd has inspired me to throw off the shackles of repression that the opinions of friends and family members have held on me, and to express myself as I really am.
Even with all the internet attention, Parr, who was banned from commenting on this website in 2022 for insulting other commenters, still courts controversy by just yesterday posting a meme on Facebook apparently advocating violence against drag show participants.
While Parr’s opinions are getting widespread attention, an ad slot on an electronic sign above the Patriot Station at the south end of Eureka offers a view from nearly the other end of the opinion spectrum as it proclaims in rainbow technicolor, “Wishing all the homophobes a super uncomfortable month.”

I have friends who are very religious and conservative. They have a beautiful smart daughter, who they raised to be a wonderful thoughtful honest person. She also happens to love women. This family has dis-owned her, cast her out into the world alone and without family. What a tragic waste. The only hope is that this is reversible.
I have had the unfortunate experiences several times of being there after accidents, performing CPR on children as their parents realize they’re gone. Moms whose son’s are murdered. I be seen young mothers fatally injured, leaving their children behind. These people left behind would do ANYTHING to spend just one more minute with their loved one gone forever.
I just hope people don’t waste this precious life hating ideas, and missing out on time with family and friends who deserve their devotion. How could anyone willfully lose their child? This haunts me.

I find the sign’s message petty and spiteful. Hurling insults at people driving down the highway because they disagree with “Pride” ideology is a good way to lose business. In my interactions with the owner, she seemed a decent person. She does not need to be named and shamed. I’m sure those looking for a cheap shot would have a field day.

#butt/porker stated that it took “much reflection and self examination” to come out with a new identity.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of trans people get support during their transition but #butt/porker gets an acrimonious reception from some that may support others?

He was banned for insulting fellow commenters not for satire–however, distasteful I find it and his ideas.

I very much doubt no one finds the video of his anal desires insulting.

The news value was that a video has 1 million views, and the silly man boy is from Humboldt.
I think that’s called clout chasing…. but you didn’t need to chase it, as you have your own clout.
A better insult would have been Parr not being aired locally even further even though online knuckledraggers are hyping him up.

The person formerly known as Steve Parr, has publicly and officially, at a government meeting, announced new pronouns as #butt/porker. Millions of views on multiple platforms affirm this person’s transition.
If there’s any dispute, #butt/porker’s desires will be public record in the meeting notes, as well as video proof on those platforms.
Any dissent, canceling, outrage or mockery from anyone is hate speech and a violation of #butt/porker’s rights, desires and FEELINGS.

How is #butt/porker handling coming out since the public announcement?
Is #butt/porker’s wife enjoying and accepting the change?
What (if any) medical support is #butt/porker receiving (if that’s not protected by HIPPA, that is. Just curious.)
Is the community at large accepting this very public transition?
This is so much more interesting than the mundane man growing his hair and putting on a dress, or a woman shaving her head and wearing overalls. That’s all one ever hears about transgendering… man to woman or woman to man. Some say there are so many other genders than male or female, but no information on someone transitioning to any other gender is available, that I can find.
#butt/porker’s transition is incredibly unique. The first one I’ve heard of that a man isn’t transitioning to merely a woman, but to something else entirely.
I think you would be doing your readers and the community an incredible service with more insight into this person’s journey.
