[Update] Early Morning CDFW Convoy in Bell Springs
Multiple California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) vehicles were in the Bell Springs area around 8 a.m. this morning, June 7. The convoy of vehicles was said to have been traveling north on Bell Springs Road in Mendocino County.
Area residents reported the officers were in the Cow Mountain area of Bell Springs.
At this time, it is unknown why the agents were in the area. We have reached out to CDFW and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
Update: Mendocino Sheriff, Matt Kendall, said that his deputies have been assisting CDFW on illegal marijuana grow eradication efforts in Mendocino County this week.
As part of their enforcement efforts, MCSO and CDFW served three warrants in the Bell Springs area today. The enforcement action led to the seizure of 5,913 plants and the detainment of one individual. Sheriff Kendall said that CDFW found several fish and game violations including water diversion and trash in a waterway.

Great journalism Kym. You must be proud.
I wouldn’t call it great, but I’d call it solid information about what is happening in the world where we live.
I appreciate it. Thank you.
Met a LE convoy that was headed southbound on 101 around 3:30 this afternoon. Not sure exactly where, but between Weott and Redcrest. Didn’t count, but more than 6 and fewer than 12 vehicles. Seemed late in the day for a southbound convoy.
Get some!
Book em all Danno.
Can a person still grow six plants?
Do you think they loaded up any trash in some of those pickups?
My guess is they left it in the creek where they saw it
Good plan, drive 12 pickup trucks that get 12 mpg into the mountains, have a big circle jerk and leave.
Exactly
Sheesh. Can grab that many on one parcel in Covelo.
Who’d they arrest?
