[UPDATE 7:18 p.m.] Power Is Out to a Swath of SoHum–From Bear Buttes to North of Dyerville
The areas in yellow show which communities are without power this evening, according to this screenshot of the PG&E Outage Map.
Over 1000 customers are without power in the Southern Humboldt area this evening. Electricity flickered out about 5:07 p.m. in communities from Bear Buttes, through Miranda, Myers Flat, Weott and north of Dyerville and the confluence of the Eel Rivers.
PG&E estimates that power will be restored about 9:30 p.m. However, as of 5:45 p.m., crews are still investigating the cause of the outage.
Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.
UPDATE 7:18 p.m.: PG&E reports that most customers have had power restored–less than 100 customers are still without electricity at this time. Most of those without power are east of Myers Flat.

I called PG&E and they told me there was no outage. I went to their web page (after firing upm my genny) and it functions so poorly it was no help at all. First it directed me to Oregon power????? Then it would not accept my phone # to identify me, even though the robot on the phone had my # correct. PG&E really needs to up their game. The power goes out on a sunny, windless day for no reason and the information they provide is useless. Now I am expecting a call from them to tell me my power has been restored. AS IF I DIDN’T KNOW.
They are busy clear cutting the state. Where is judy beri when you need her? . Passing along the enormous tab to the customer!!! Employing all of south america to do it Becus our working aged males are smoking medicine and playing video games
Hey- it’s medicine! That means it is private medical decisions that you cannot criticize!! You can’t even really talk about other peoples’ medical issues so everybody please shut up and let them all smoke all the dabs they want!!!! It’s a personal medical privacy issue and HIPAA will sue your ass!!
Useless is an understatement. Every time the power goes out the automated system says it was due to an equipment failure. NOOOO!! …. really? WTF else would it be from? 🙄
