First bridge south of what the old-timers called The Half-bridge. Newcomers renamed it “The Slab”.

I miss driving on the half bridge. Viewing it when northbound just south of Bridges Creek shows what an amazing construction fete it was.

I heard “the slab” back in the 70’s from a truck driver. Does that make me a newcomer?

The man driving that Toyota Tundra is very lucky to be alive. If the truck had landed with the cab down in the river, I am afraid he would have perished. A small 4th of July lucky day. Thank you to all the first responders that helped him to safety!
