[UPDATE 7:18 p.m.]12 Acre Fire in Lake County

Multiple air resources are working on the Boyle Fire and evacuations have been ordered between Betz Drive and Wilkinson Avenue in Clearlake.
The fire currently stands at 12 acres and firefighters are reporting it has the potential to grow to 20 growing at a moderate rate of spread.
Initial reports from multiple callers described heavy black smoke in the area of 8th Street and Boyles Avenue. The winds are reportedly pushing the fire east.

Brush cut back in Clearlake? No. The problem is the thousands of abandoned, dilapidated lots, in which there is literally thousands of tons of dead, dry, years old brush.
When the fire first started, I estimated the winds to have been around 12-15 mph, gusts nearly 20 mph, then the winds died down to nearly a standstill.
Had the winds NOT died down, and had the winds been blowing at 20-30 mph instead of 12-15 mph, the outcome could have been very, very different.
We need more quick reaction chinook helicopters.
They can fight fire day or night.
This was NOT a practice fire, this was the real thing.
