Thank you Ms Kemp/RHBB for timely info…

In Lake County, the Nixles come stating “Evac Zones”, and it’s fun to try to find a map listing the zones, so here is the link:

This reporting may save lives! Thank you so much for always getting us important news in almost real-time. I have been lurking here for years but never posted. I heavily rely on online news sites to keep me informed about local situations. Kym and this site are far and away the best at getting information out fast and accurately. And if there’s a mistake she owns it and fixes it! That’s legit.

I have a friend who teaches at the high school there. They just evacuated all the students. She said it is quite terrible, smoke & falling ash, traffic jams, crying children. She is out of danger, but sounded traumatized. I can’t blame her. Aren’t we all on edge right now?

I was crying while I was reporting–the live video and the scanner made me ill. I can’t imagine being there.

It’s hard. As someone who deploys to assist at evacuation centers, one can never truly be prepared for the emotional toll. After Paradise, it was hard not to visualize people I helped, people looking for lost loved ones. Some perished and that was tough, knowing they came to me for help and there was nothing I could do. I’m surprised my team hasn’t gotten the call yet. It’s one of those things where I’m always ready and never ready at the same time. May all these fire survivors find strength and hope they find solace during these trying times.

Who do we call about the animals? I could take a larger dog or 3 for a while if they all get along.

Here’s one of the cat rescuers.. from her page you can probably find links to others.

These people have been rescuing since the Butte county fire in 2018. They know what they’re doing and they work at their own expense unless people donate. Please contribute to support their work.

I’m glad they haven’t been able to make wildfire a political subject like they have COVID-19. 50 % running and 50% staying. Each claiming the other one is nuts

I wish he would have held onto the dog and stuffed him into the car; could have taken him to am evac center where it would have been safe for sure. Turning him loose just makes him a hazard to emergency vehicles and evacuees on the road, and puts the dog at risk of being hit, burned, lost, etc…

I pray that everyone that is being asked to leave will go immediately. Praying the firefighters can get everyone out of their homes and on the way to safety. I pray that the CHP can can get to the two juveniles that are immobile out and away to safety. Seeing all that just makes me sick and so damn sad. I pray no one will be injured or killed. Please God they need your help. Amen.

Bring back real forest management with real silviculture, experienced foresters, fuels reduction, road access and not abandonment, logging, prescribed burning, protecting wilderness areas and special places, and just doing good for everyone, especially the folks whose backyards border these lands. National forests and other gov Forest lands are not owned by only one special interest, they are owned by everyone. Otherwise we get this. This is an EPIC failure just like Afghanistan under our current regime of loser stupid humans [edit]

All the area, shown in this report as burning, is private land. Maybe get some information, before presenting your political beliefs as some sort of fact.
