Early Morning Hit and Run Leaves Dodge Charger Abandoned by Driver

Crashed Dodge Charger

Two officers appear to look for the driver after a vehicle crashed early this morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page, at approximately 2:03 a.m. a white Dodge Charger rolled over near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Freshwater Road.

The CHP Incident page indicates Eureka Police Department responded to the scene and found the Dodge Charger had major front damage and was approximately 10 feet off of the roadway.

A witness to the incident told us she was outside and heard the vehicle “crash and roll” right by the Three Corners Market. The witness went and checked out the car and said they found “nobody in the car.” The witness watched police canvass the area for the driver without success.

No, it’s the Dodge Brothers, it’s a charger…not Bo Duke or Daisy, or…

Damn near every person that has one of these drives like a entitled jackass on their own race track.[edit]….. They need to make fleeing the scene of an incident as severe as drunk driving, literally the only way this shit gets better.

Typical Humco driver. Cause mayhem, flee scene. Or cause mayhem, blame someone else. They drive like maniacs in the rain. They smoke dope while driving (seen it many times), look down at their cell phones (constant), eat and put on makeup (yes, you “ladies”), ignore turn signals, ignore stop signs and red lights, etc. It is Deathrace 2020 for all pedestrians. God help those who are walking ….

To the white pt cruiser up Thomas road. I wish everybody was as good a driver as you. You are by far the fastest car in that road. To drive that fast you are a great driver. Especially the way you pass cars on those corners. Now that takes some skill. Can you got 60 mph on that stretch by step back? Go go go.

I have a feeling that somebody probably reported a white Dodge Charger as being “stolen” sometime this morning.

People hit this road way to fast. They drive in the rain as if it’s not wet.

Probably not someone, but something. They hit vegetation and ran. More likely they staggered. A hit and stagger involving a bush.

Not a hit and run, false headline. Let’s hope Matt has enough integrity to keep his articles clean from clickbait in the future.

The CHP have it listed at 5:45 a.m. 20002-Hit and Run No Injuries. Matt correctly reported law enforcement’s take on the situation.

So did “police canvas the area”, or did they canvass the area?

Hit and Run applies to property as well as people. So hiting a telephone pole, a highway sign, a bridge abutement, etc is also hit and run to the police. I would apply it only to people or animals but, alas, they didn’t ask me when they wrote the law.
