I’m proud to support Rex Bohn as a county supervisor who has stood up for quality law enforcement and public safety in Humboldt County. By backing experienced and adequate deputies serving our community, Rex has shown that he understands the needs of the citizens in our county.As a long-time deputy sheriff I see how having qualified officers who are involved in the community is essential to a safe and happy community. We still struggle to fill vacant positions with qualified candidates. It’s essential that we provide the highest quality of public safety to our community that we can, and I truly appreciate Rex’s willingness to address the real need for adequate coverage for all of our neighborhoods.I support Rex and all of his his efforts to keep Humboldt County a safe and great place to live. It would appear that the HCSO has struggled for decades to “fill vacant positions with qualified candidates.”
Rex Bohn lacks the integrity , the character, and, the circumspection to be a County Supervisor.
He does have a flair for being a hillbilly, a good old boy, an ignorant hick, which gives him some “local boy” appeal and attraction, but his dishonest incompetence should have left him out of this race.
Rex Bohn appears incapable of progressive thought, and to lack the spirit of evolution needed in Humboldt.
Please, do not vote for this guy, as almost anyone else, would be a better option…

Paying Supervisors, politicians, and police officers well is one of the most powerful tools against corruption. I’m sure you’d have them paid less and thus highly incentivized to do favors/take bribes.

Really he just seems like a pushover. Easy to influence by corporations and “out of county” contributions. Might be from Humboldt, might be a good ol’ boy hick from wherever, i don’t care. He’s still just a corrupt politician in my book. And i think we can do a lot better.

We the people have a lot of nullifying to do.
It is still Gov’t BY the People. The People elect the officials by voting. When 38% of the voting public don’t vote the voting public is responsible. No one else, because there is no one else that gives them the power of office. If you don’t take part in elections and you do not vote you get what you deserve. BAD Politicians. Unless you are OK with a dictatorship or a King you CITIZENs are responsible to elect your leaders. And that requires becoming involved in elections and voting. You have a problem with that?? Our politicians far and wide need to become one party and do what they are paid to do and work for the people they serve! I’m sick of this divided stance that distracts us all from the realities in front of us. Even our local government can be bought to make decisions based on the money they receive from individuals with an agenda. We need some fresh perspectives and change. Crime, homelessness, etc. are rampant in our County! And Rex, if you have to try this hard to show you are worthy to be on the team by these staged media rallies, letters of recommendation, etc. it shows me a lack of confidence and strength necessary to be a leader of great character.

Rex did nothing when the sheriffs were caught illegally selling dead peoples estate items to one another out of the coroners office. Hes their protector. Theyll fuck you over in a second if youre not in their club.
If someone else gets elected how will they get to not come to home breakins, not investigate murders of any citizen besides their buddies, get to deputize loggers to beat up and point guns threatening to kill enviro activists, not investigate bulgarians cuz theyre “too afraid” of them, not get more tax bills passed because they “dont have enough deputies” to patrol even after they’ve hired at least 15 new ones, not get to take bribes to look the other way on human trafficking, not get to pick&choose which crimes they investigate….i could go on but you get the picture. Everything in quotes ive personally been told by multiple sheriffs.
Maybe a bunch of us ought to move to his district just to oust him or pay other folks to do that, its how politics works these days.
Dont forget folks, the ENTIRE board besides Steve madrone voted to give themselves a pay raise (cuz $90,000 each/year wasnt enough) at the same meeting they denied county in home care providers a raise from $11 to $13 an hour. Madrone said he wouldn’t take a raise if the care providers didnt get one.
Lets oust this super corrupt board of supes, just the mess at the DA office that they created with Fleming should have every citizen ousting their rep that was involved in that situation.

Madrone called them out too when they started re-zoning private property after no direct contact with land owners, just a small note in the back of journal about the meeting. Madrone commented that he had legal proof at least 2 folks on the planning commission were gonna make millions off the re-zoning.
They basically shut down the meeting & havent tried again since. I dont know Steve but i do know these are the things i want to see in a supervisor! !!
