Fire Fully Engulfs Vehicle at Benbow Offramp, Briefly Closing Exit Off 101

A vehicle fire shut down the Benbow offramp on southbound Highway 101 Saturday afternoon as firefighters responded to a car that became fully engulfed about 4 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

By about 4:04 p.m., CHP reported the vehicle was fully engulfed and the offramp was closed while emergency crews responded.

The vehicle was identified as a Mercedes C250, which sustained major fire damage. By 4:about 4:30 p.m., CHP reported the vehicle had two good tires remaining despite the extensive damage.

Pacific Towing was requested and en route by approximately 4:28 p.m. No injuries were reported in the incident, and the reporting party was identified as the owner-operator of the vehicle.

Very glad to read that there were no injuries in the fire. I guess the Mercedes-Benz has reached the end of its life.
