[UPDATE 10:08 a.m.] Fire in Fields Landing

Firefighters extinguish a blaze in a motorhome this morning. [Photo by Mark McKenna]
At about 8:30a.m., firefighters were called to both fires. The fire at Fields Landing was in a mobile home at Third and B. Firefighters quickly got on top of this one stopping it from destroying a nearby utility pole.
We have more on the fire off Broadway here.
UPDATE 10:08 a.m.: Jason Minoia captured these images as the fire was underway. He said, “Humboldt Bay Fire Department was here in about 17 seconds and then had the fire out a couple minutes later. Probably saved the power pole from falling. It was amazing to watch them work with so much courage, experience, speed, and grace.”

One less metherhome.
Tweaker mobile no more. Good riddance.
underweigh?
Thank you. Apparently I was thinking about my diet this morning… Fixed now!
You people assume too much. This could have been someone’s only home.
Someone’s only home and one who stirred so much shit in the hood that he was asked to leave politely by torching the motorhome instead of making him crab bait.
I agree someone just lost everything there home and property and unless you have been there yourself you have no idea what that means. How do you assume that the people in it are tweekers or that someone torched it to get rid of them. I am temporarily homeless and am staying in my car and I am not a tweeker and I park where I believe it is safe. All people are going through a rough time because of the COVID-19 virus and this is just sad to me.
I am with you Baffled ?
A mobile home is not a “structure.” . LOL
??If its parked on a slab of concrete they might consider it a structure. ??
how unfortunate
So fortunate the transformer on the nearby power pole didn’t ignite. That would’ve put all the houses connected to that main power line at risk.
